A proposal... What do y'all think?

I love this site, I really do. It has helped thousands upon thousands of people to sort things out, and see TTATT. I would like to propose something to help with the healing process and help people become ex-exJW's, if possible. To have the ability to completely break away from the site for a while and actually enjoy their lives.

So what I propose is a totally JW/exJW free zone in this site. No talking about JW's or exJW's or religion or atheism allowed. What is allowed and encouraged is to talk about personal experiences, happy events, hobbies, new friends, etc.

We all have to learn to re-integrate to society, if that's what's desired, and have our own lives back, rebuild them. Just talk about something that you are passionate about. For example, I love photography, nature and HDR photography in particular.

Anyone like that hobby too? Care to share pics?

What do you think of this idea? An ex-ex-JW place/subforum?

I think the idea is good, generally I am becoming quite bored with this place as a result of my becoming more an ex-XJW.

I find no fault with this forum, I think it is wonderful for people newly exiting, or about to, but most of what is discussed holds no great interest for me.

Such a place as you describe could be of great value, and we would not have to trawl through stuff not of interest. I would still read and participate in this main Forum to a degree, but what you propose would probably be my first port of call.

Hi ILoveTTATT, Have you read/written threads in the Social forum and its subforms?

It is a good thing to go out and talk with and play with real friends and enjoy life instead of visiting JWN. It will be a great day for exJWs (and people adversely affected by the WTBTS) to no longer feel a desire to visit JWN.

I hope that you are enjoying your life, even though the WTBTS has "unduly influenced" your JW family and friends to shun you.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

There are other ex-jw dbs that have addressed this issue just as others suggested, use the forums on JWN that address those interests. No matter what I do, I cannot be like a non-jw who has never been part of the WTS, or still have family in. Are there topics not covered under SOCIAL?

Yeah... It's tough... Some kind of "have" to stay, and that's fine. Someone's gotta run the forum, someone's gotta keep it going. But most of us "should" (read: would be a great goal) try to just leave. Blondie, how about trying it for a day? Baby steps, right? Just for like a day or a specified period, not think about JW's/exJW's, etc... Just do something that you love and, if you want, share it with us. But share it with us like we are not JW's or exJW's, we are just people, fellow human beings. Nothing more, nothing less. =)

Like you I love this place, it's a big family. I have moved on but

I come here to get the latest stump for my JW family that is still

    in. LOL

Life is beautiful now. I have learn to play the guitar, a program

at the local senior citizen center. Oldest member 91 years old, we

now perform for the public. Members in the group are from india,

Holland, Philippines, Mexico, Brazil and a young lady (60) just join

    from Vietnam.

Golf , I love that game.

My next project, to get involve with my local city. There are

so many wonderful activities sponsored by our little town.

So much to do but little time left.

I am at a point of my leaving that is really stressful. I visit everyday because I am addicted. Moving on with life for me has to be the long game I have to much drama with my JW ex at the moment to think about moving on with my own life.

So for me I just chill and relax and visit everyday. I have noticed I am reading more and posting less, perhaps that's progress, I have officially left now so I don't rant as much, but I do miss my son terribly. JWN helps me get my mind off my stresses.

I think you need to concentrate on getting JWfacts translated to spanish, so thousands of JW's of that language can be saved from the Cult! You have that ability and I do not, so keep up the good work, many will thankyou.
