This site has no specific barrier(apart from the conditions we have agreed to)apart from that each one may start a topic on whatever sub they wish , if someone is interested enough they'll respond.simple really.

You can ignore the JW, exJW stuff if you wish......but will you !!!??

Kate... I am at a different spot than you are... But I think that it's a good thing to leave both worlds. Each one at their own pace, right? I mean, I am grateful that all I lost was speaking to my parents for a couple of weeks (I am back home, we just promised each other not to talk about religion. I am trying to rebuild my life, going to the gym helps. You will get there too Kate, just keep going!! I am not saying that posting here is wrong, it's a definitely amazing tool to help get cured... Just that it's sad if we keep on obsessing about our time as JW's forever. Life is short, so make the best of it.

    Big Hug!!

    Crazyguy, I will!! Thanks!!

Galaxie, I am just suggesting a small area where we can all practice just being human beings... Some people need that... To just for a second forget they were ever JW's... That's what I am suggesting... To get away from an addiction to talking about JW's/exJW's/religion/atheism, etc... And work towards a more balanced approach to the world.

    Just sayin'...

Congratulations about your parents not shunning you ILoveTTATT!! You lucked out big time.

Now go to the gym, go out and meet more active, positive, professional people, and enjoy your life. Being successful and enjoying life is probably the best way to dispel WTBTS induced phobias in your parents.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

There are always people leaving that need to talk over the issues involved - the site will continue to be here for that.

There are plenty of non-Jw related discussions and areas like you mentioned in your opening post which is good and healthy but overall the forum will not be evolving into a non-JW forum, people read and comment on what interests them! Some people reach a stage where they move on to other interests and stop posting and become an ex-exjw which is great, we are just happy to have been here when they needed the site - others stay for various reasons as they may be still impacted in some ways even though they have been out for a long time, or they might just like it here ! continuing to post on this site does not really stop you "re-integrating into society"

The disappearance of WT thought patterns is the hardest thing to accomplish. I rate this next to the difficulties of family and friends that are shunning - even if a deliberate slow down in JW activity or calculated 'fade' (like we are doing) is your objective.

Many years ago I went through the process of getting off the booze. With the help of hospital detox, group and personal therapy & AA support, I was able to stop.

I think it's the same with leaving this religion. At some point a person must decide to cut themselves free from the ex-JW support groups/forums - when you're ready.

IL....I have been away for many days...if it weren't for my comments, few would notice. I bet that many that no longer post still come by here to read comments (not just mine), in fact I know they do. This board is not for ourselves but to help others if we can.

JWN will always be a part of my life now.

I enjoy just "normal" topics too.

    Great people and good chat.
