    Welcome SingleCell.

No, the people on this forum do not hate JWs. The people on this forum actually pity JWs. Having done thorough independent and verifyable research into the history and teachings of the organization, we feel like we have been betrayed by the organization. We feel like we have been hoodwinked, tricked into making a decision to dedicate our lives "in association with" the organization without having all the facts about the organization. And do you know why we didn't have all the facts? Because the organization used propaganda to plant within us a fear of doing independent research from non-JW sources. We were indoctrinated to believe that all critical information about the organization is all lies. So we never made a truly informed decision in becoming JWs. We made a decision based only on the self-serving, pro-organization spin that was fed to us by the organization. The only history of the organization we knew of is an incomplete history presented in the form of whitewashed spin. It's like a criminal attorney at a trial convincing the court to listen to and believe only what the defense has to say and to disregard all the prosecution says as all lies; so that the court only accepts the submissions of the defense and comes to the conclusion that the guilty man is innocent. (Proverbs 18:17) This is analogous to what your organization does.

    Thanks Island man.

As a former evangelical, and current JW, I have to agree with the Watchtower that (from a Christian perspective) most non-JW instruction is nonsense. I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted trying to make sense of 'christian' doctrines against what the Bible teaches.

Almost every doctrine I was taught to believe I've come to realize is a lie, despite trying my hardest to adopt them. While I agree that the organization is haughty in a sense regarding outside information, I have to conclude JW biblical conceptions are accurate.

The 'governing body' stuff .. I leave that alone because I disagree with it, similarly with the prophetic outline; but in my opinion that was prophesied as well, at least that is how I read Ezekiel 13 and 2 Thessalonians 2, for example.

Single Cell, the Bible teaches that Jesus of Nazareth is Jehovah, Our Savior and Redeemer.

The WT denies this and has perverted the Scriptures that show this.

John 8:58 is the most glaring example.

    Check things our for yourself.

    Welcome SingleCell

    We don't hate Jehovah's Witnesses

our heart goes out to them, They are victims of a scam by false prophets

like we were. Don't believe it ? Examine for yourself, Grab a chair and stay for a while

    .

    .

    Hello there Blues Brother

As you and I both know, the WTS is full of double speak

    Here's a clear example

    .

" Even if we have a legitimate concern, how much better to " Throw our burden upon Jehovah "___March 2008 Kingdom Ministry Page one

    .

    .

Jehovah gave 'em a brain, but it has been washed clean by the WTS

    .

    .

As one poster put it in another thread

The Pavlovian response have been deadened in most Jehovah's Witnesses

Warnin' signs jus' don't ring a bell when your brainwashed

And they're most likely to think

    .

" To hell wit it, I'll toss it to Jehovah "

    Hey snowbird,

I've actually never met someone who went from non-trinity to trinity.

What reasoning do you use? And if Jesus is Jehovah, then why is he always mentioned as a separate being in the old testament and new?

Jesus prayed to Jehovah, made requests of him, and 'through his obedience' was promoted to his position.

From a trinitarian perspective, how do you make sense of this?

The other issue I have with my evangelical past is the idea that God burns people in hell eternally, I was very happy to learn how wrong that is, it truly pushes people away from reaching out to the creator. Do you believe in hell? I'm just curious - if so, how do you consider God loving?

    LOL.

I don't believe in the Trinity, Single Cell.

Please google Jesus is Jehovah and you will find a plethora of supporting scriptures.

Then, note how the NWT altered those scriptures.

    Happy hunting!

    Blessings.

    Sylvia

Edited: No, I don't believe in a burning hell.

    Thank you wasblind!

Let me challenge you on that, as I read Isaiah / Ezekiel / Joel and come away with a clear idea that the 'false prophecies' of the JWs were prophesied. (the leaders drunk on sweet wine, declaring a false parousia)

Ezekiel 13 in particular is applicable to the 1914 framework.

My conclusion is that the JWs are spiritual Israel, but following the pattern, have declared 'peace when there is no peace' through a false prophetic conception. Exactly like Jeremiah eludes to as a 'double fulfillment'.

    (note: 1914 is certainly wrong)

So when the actual judgment begins with the Watchtower, JWs will be under the test: do you follow man or Jehovah?

In my opinion this will begin with WW3, however that occurs, since JWs will refuse military service.

Thanks for the reply snowbird, can you answer these questions?

If Jesus is Jehovah then why did Jehovah prophecy that he would send his anointed?

If Jesus is Jehovah then how did Jesus inherit the name above all names through his obedience?

Why did Jesus plead with Jehovah to remove the cup from him?

These sorts of questions can't be logically answered by suggesting that Jesus is Jehovah.
