Hi Jon , you possilbly know that I am a never been JW, always Church of England Trinitarian . Now I have also mentioned this next bit a few !! times but I do think that the point is valid . When JWs would come to my door (incidentally they now pass my house by , they just have in fact ) I would politely listen and one day accepted the " Should You Believe In The Trinity "" brochure . The part about the Early Church Fathers and their suposed anti Trinitarian views got me wondering . Why was my Church telling me that Trinitarianism was the orthodox view of the Church if the ECF s did not preach this ? So I did MY research and realised the lies contained in the brochure . Tertullian etc certainly did believe in a Godhead of more than one person . Now I appreciate that this is not an easy thing to slip into a conversation but if your wife would acknowledge that finding out that the Watchtower is less than honest in it's literature might be something that would make her distrust the org (good idea ABibleStudent ) then it's worth a shot .

    Jon,

Slowly does it, all the advice here is good. but don't bombard her with information. You have all the time in the world now. Enjoy your kids and do lots of family things together.

Your wifes CD will be worse before it gets better, let her come to you when she is stressed about a particular doctrine or ritual. She may want to skip a meeting when you least expect. Just take it one step at a time.

Have her research cults in general, she won't be able to say it's apostate, or anti JW. Many here recommend Combating Cult Mind control, by Steve Hassan. There is also some info at howcultswork.com, if she isn't into reading a book, it's just a few pages. It would be hard to read the info and not see how the JWs hit every criteria, especially since she is starting to wake up.

If it walks like a cult and talks like a cult, it's a cult!

Let her take the lead. Honor her opinions even if they are different than your own. Lead if you must by asking open ended questions. You are not trimming a closely groomed hedge here, but allowing a tangled English garden to spread out as it will.
