NotBlind, that post was one of the best and most concise breakdowns I've seen here, yet.
And still, there are people here who insist that the WT is going to be around for a long, long time.

Best illustration for it alfredjones100, In my little corner many believe this to be a signifigant year or "just ahead", I really am getting some practice with my poker face. Observing others it looks like most have slowed with the zealous putting on a little speed or enthusiasm, all that believe have some extra hopefulness that His day is just upon us.
Peace,
WIT?
If their activity is in any way "ramping up" around here, I have seen no evidence of it yet!
The last time they called in at our house was over 12 months ago, during the Memorial invitation campaign for lastyear.
Bill.
NotBlind- excellent post.
I just wanted to add the decreasing of book production and going from using several books in the door to door work to only using the Teach book.
They cut back the printing budget every year.
I talked with a exbig-wig from the writing department and he still knows several on the current writing department. The thing is according to him is, their all delusional, they all thought that the end would of come by now and are themselves having a hard time reacting to the fact that it has not.
NotBlind, never seen their ragime broken down like that, wonder what is next for the "chop" once 2014 is out of the way 2015 will be pivotal with more changes, IMO "ramping" up their efforts is complelty pointless, we will all be here this same time next year, the 100 year gap must be an absolute embarrassment.
My brother had lunch with my mom yesterday, and she kept talking about the end of the system, how it's almost here, and trying to get him to go back to meetings. She had been out in service that morning. When he told me that I was wondering if there's anything going on at the hall for her to say that. I figured it's just the usual fear mongering to keep everyone in line. But who knows
At the covnvention this year they're mentioning where 100 years of satan's rule has gotten humankind or something like that. I don't think they're predicting anything this time but they aren't making it difficult for the regular, tired of waiting, jw to speculate.
Which, I think, is the gb's whole plan to ramp up the activity. If you hint at the possibility of something happening by a certain time, you get all the benefits of saying an exact date, without having to deal with the embarrassment of getting anything wrong.

I'd wondered if that might happen.
Cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

Yeah, what else can they do?
"It's 100 years of Jesus' (invisible) rule; isn't that happifying wonderful???"
Problem is (and I don't know if you were aware of this), is that historically, apocalyptic millennialist grous have to set firm dates for the End from time to time to rally the efforts of their memberships; passive hints just don't really cut it. Unfortunately for the WTS, they practically hold the world record for failed date-setting, so the tactic is way past it's sell-by date.
