DBNC, thanks for posting that! Humorous and thoughtful at the same time.

Who's the girl? She's very articulate.

I have watched the youtube from the OP and found it could have been produced a bit better to cater for the general public. To me the point it was to emphsise if we believe in God then it's all in head, and it's a emotional and psychological response to the world around us.

If that was the point, I am afraid I disagree with the video, I believe God created the universe, and he is not a figment of my imagination.

In the 19th century the woo was around electricity.

Even the WT had the Radio Biola! LOL

QM it's science, there's nothing related to woo.

Meanwhile we'll hear a lot of conmen with "quantum leaps".

Quantum Radio Biola, Quantum Wheat, Quantum Snake Oil...

And there's no evidence about a creator of the universe.

And even if it had one, who created him? The creator premise demands an useless ad infinitum question.

Well I thought the video was pretty good. All you woo callers are doing so out of ignorance as in ignorance about these laws of physics from Einstein onward. Maybe you are stuck in your limited knowledge of Newtonian physics ie-> classical mechanics.

Anyway I'm glad that this vid got a few hundred views.

I agree that the production could have been better IMO, if they had better voice quality for sure as it was a bit buzzy and sometimes hard to understand what was being said other than that I liked it and found it delightfully out of the box with reguards to Newtonian world views.

I think one could perhaps glean a few insights on Eistein's Theory of General Relativity and the speed of light constant c. if one thought about it more.

Anyway can the woo callers please give some hard facts as to were in the video they have stated woo? just saying.

How did Einstein discover that light speed was a constant?

Einstein didn't discover that the speed of light is constant. The first ones to show that it was constant (or pretty darn close to it) were Michelson and Morley. Before that even, Maxwell's equations predicted a constant speed of light, but everyone figured that the equations only applied in a certain reference frame, an electromagnetic ether. M&M's experiment failed to find that ether. So Einstein postulated that there was no ether and Maxwell's equations (and hence the constancy of the speed of light) were true for ALL observers in any reference frames. If you assume, as Einstein did, that everyone sees the same speed of light, then no objects (massive or massless)can travel faster. The only possible exception would be an object with imaginary mass, but we have no idea what that would mean (and haven't seen such an object in any case).

And yeah, the first answer is on the border between picking nits and being wrong. The stuff we call light traveling through a medium is a combination of actual light and shaking charges in the medium. Actual, honest-to-god electromagnetic radiation (or a photon, the quanta of the EM field) propagates at a speed of c. Period.

Brandon--it's a bad habit (ie using an odd pedagogical convention that no actual physicists use) to say that mass increases with speed. Energy increases with speed, not mass, which is generally understood to be a Lorentz invariant quantity. (And now eyes is guilty of the same sin). ;)

Do you have a slight idea what you're talking about?

Why are you quoting Einstein in a QM discussion?

Einstein denied QM, and the biggest problem of science today is to find a way to conciliate QM with Relativity.

The video have so much bullcrap it's hard to find something as "fact" from it. It's just like to pick up undigested corn kernels from crap!

Frankie, I thought you're supposed to be the spiritual one here.

I never attacked you, just the silly video you posted.

Pray more for your quantum-hiding-creator to give you more respect to other people.
