I will ask them for their address, so I can come to their house to give them an invitation and to preach the good news of Buddha.

    The Ploughing Festival
In May, when the moon is half-full, two white oxen pull a gold painted plough, followed by four girls dressed in white who scatter rice seeds from gold and silver baskets. This is to celebrate the Buddha's first moment of enlightenment, which is said to have happened when the Buddha was seven years old, when he had gone with his father to watched the ploughing. (Known in Thailand as Raek Na

The Story of the Festival Goes..
The Ploughing Festival owes its orgin to the times when Prince Gautama was just a child, seven years of age. At the point of time, an annual ploughing festival was held when the rice field was ploughed. Once, king Sudhodana took along his son, Prince Gautama, to see the festival. There, the little prince fell asleep. Discovering that the prince had fallen asleep, His maids left Him and went to join in the festivities. On waking up, the prince found Himself alone. Instead of getting hassled, he engaged Himself in meditation. He breathed in and out and thereby attained one-pointedness of the mind and developed the First Ecstasy (Jhana). On their return, the maids were completely surprised to find the little prince meditating. They immediately informed the king about it and he was equally surprised to his son in a meditative posture. He was so impressed that he saluted his young son and said, "This, dear child is my second salutation".

    The Ploughing Festival of Thailand

Later, in His life, the prince used the same form of meditation and attained enlightened. The Ploughing festival celebrates the first enlightenment of prince Gautama or the Buddh

Tell them that you celebrate the evening meal [memorial] with Jesus Christ alone in your own house so that you will not get caught eating and drinking with the drunkards when he returns.

Poilitely ask for their NWT and read this to them:

    Revelation 3:19-20

"‘All those for whom I have affection I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into his [house] and take the evening meal with him and he with me.

Point out to them that I, his, him, he and me are ALL singular!

You could simply tell them that you are a Christian and that Christians obey Jesus Christ.

Politely ask them for their NWT and read this to them:

Place emphasis on the bolded words.

    Luke 21:8

He said: "Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.

Immediately ask them if they think; "Do not go after them" is a recommendation or ........... a commandment from Jesus Christ.

Then ask if going after them to their Kingdom Hall would be the right thing for a person to do who is really sincere about his Christianity.

If they persist you can just say; "No, I am going to obey Jesus Christ!"

BTW. this would work not just for the memorial invitation but for every time a JW knocks on your door!

If they persist you can just say; "No, I am going to obey Jesus Christ!"

This would also work if you ever found yourself in a JC meeting.

You could walk out of there with your dignity completely intact!

    and then jump for joy!

Me: "Did Jesus die so that all who exercise faith in the ransom can have eternal life?"

    JW: "Yes"

Me: "Do you accept and exercise faith in, Jesus' ransom sacrifice?"

    JW: "Yes"

Me: "Now this memorial that you're inviting me to - is it a memorial of the establishment of a covenant with 144,000 persons; or is it a memorial of Jesus sacrificial death establishing a new covenant that will benefit everyone exercising faith in his sacrifice? What does 1 Corinthians 11:26 say? Does it say it's a proclamation of an exclusive covenant with only 144,000 partakers? Or does it say it's a proclamation of Jesus' death?"

JW: "It's a proclamation of his death, but Jesus also said the wine represents the new covenant by virtue of his blood, so only those in new covenant should partake."

Me: "Yes Jesus' death is the basis for a new covenant - a covenant that results in everlasting life for everyone who exercises faith, including even those who will live on a paradise earth according to your interpretation of the bible. Am I right?"

    JW: "Well, yes but . . ."

Me: "What did Jesus say about the bread? Did he say anything about a new covenant when mentioning the bread?"

    JW: "No"

Me: "So if the bread represents his body which he gave up for all those exercising faith and he never mentioned the new covenant with reference to the bread, then you can't make any claim from scripture that only those directly in the new covenant are to partake of the bread. So why aren't all JWs at least partaking of the bread in acceptance of Jesus giving up his sinless body on their behalf? According to your beliefs, did Jesus die only for the direct participants in the new covenant; or did he die for all christians who exercise faith in him regardless whether their hope his heavenly or earthly?"

Good one ablebodiedman. It works best if you have a copy of C.T.Russel's 'The time is at hand' and you read Luke 21:8 from the ESV or ASV which says not to go after those saying "the time is at hand' - the exact title of C.T. Russel's book!
