So that's who came up with the idea for the movie Footloose, it was the WT!

Where's Kevin Bacon when you need him.

If it brings up unwanted thoughts for someone to dance or attend a "dance party" maybe they should stay away from them or maybe they should finally learn some self control. The trouble is, if you get a few of those types in a congregation or in a position of authority, they'll often impose thier problem on everyone and suddenly no one can do anything except have Bible based costume parties.

Wow! That paragraph about dance parties is one of the best "read between the lines" examples of conditioning that the Watchtower is becoming known for.

It's an odd article - the focus on "apostates" is primarily internal ( citing Korah etc ) rather than external. Reminiscent of the Mccarthyism type articles in the early 80's after the WTBTS purge of Franz , Dunlap etc. It looks like the leaders of the Society are worried about their own positions and authority and trying to stop any internal dissent.

It is the former Stanley Theatre - now Jersey City Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Wow they are becoming so so paranoid and scared.. They want JWs to shut out any reasoning they hear thats not in the WT whether it is scriptural or not!

No group that has the truth would be this afraid. Truth does not cower in fear or hide from lies.

I had to chuckle at the signs the "apostate" protesters are holding:

    "No No No"

    "Stop Believing Everything"

    "If You [something something] Deceived"

They can't even show what would actually be printed on apostate protest signs...blood issue, UN, effects of shunning, JWFacts.com, jehovahs-witness.net, etc. If two or three words on a protester's sign can cause someone to begin questioning their belief structure, what does that mean?

That's Queens Assembly Hall in the picture, not Jersey's.

EOM: If you read between the lines what they are really saying by those stupid examples is, "all 'spiritual' JW's will avoid dancing and dance parties and anything else that can possibly be fun. Those who are known to frequent those should be marked as unspiritual"

This is something we have to be careful about. I would love to hate "all-things-JW" but I do not at all read what you are reading between the lines. If they were trying to say that, they would also be saying all spiritual JW's need to avoid alcohol. And they would not say "Of course, Christians are not required to abstain totally from alcohol, dancing, or other things that are not wrong in themselves."

I strongly feel your initial point is way out of bounds.
