Welcome.
the elders said I could not have one until I was baptised
That is so weird. I had a blood card for many yrs before baptism, and I was a kid then (couldn't legally make my own decisions).
Good luck with your surgery and your journey.

Hope everything goes okay!
Elders planned my parents to move out of the state of California due to the blood issue!
It was tough times and unbelivable! I summed it up as a lot of drama in my life.

HeyThere
The more I have read about how the elders involve themselves in issues they have no business in amd the extreme behavior...hiding sick childre to avoid blood, intimidating people into acting on their flawed beliefs, hiding kids from nondub parents during custody battles, splitting up relationships (personal experience with this when my h and i were dating. i will tell that story later) wth?
i plan to have a written statememt to give to the medical team. i will give it to my doctor at my preop amd also provide it upon check in for the procedure. i have no doubt my h loves me dearly amd would not intentionally kill
me, but i know already a couple will be coming to the hospital to be witb my family while i am in surgery. i would love to believe it is just because they care but after all my jw research i am realizing it is likely that they are just planning ahead. what a loving and kind provision. so i will make sure my h ismt put into that position. thank you fpr all the kindwords amd suggestions. very helpful. i will be applying these great tips. amd if they asl me about it after the sirgery, i now habe a perfect bible verse to respond woth.

Welcome Hey Their , sorry your going through this , good for you that you have done some research and are well prepaired for the inevitable pressure your hubby is likely to be confronted with .
I hope everything goes well with you and your surgery , and also hope that this whole experience wakes your husband up to this religion being a cult.

Welcome Hey There,
You are and intelligent and informed woman, well done for doing all the preparation with the doctors pre-op. I take it you're an upbaptised publisher to please your hubby. How long have you been one for?
You obviously don't believe it all and are not going to get baptised, so do you have a plan on how to exit and stop going on the FS?
Keep us informed?

HeyThere
bmy husband was inactive for several years, before we were dating. we started going about a year ago...but i just became an unbaptized publisher in the last montb. prior to my convo with elders, i was all in...thinkimg ot is just christianoty with some tweaks. it was durimg my elder convo to become an unbaptized pub that my eyes opened. they basocally said that they count all people who have attended kh for any period of time as jws in their numbers, even disfellowshipped, inactive ones, etc. didnt matter if you havent been to a hall in 15 years, you are countd in the number reported unless you provided a letter of resognation to the elders. this seemed odd to me, so i started to question things, did research, and here i am.
my h knows how i feel, but i also support him. this is the only religion he knkws so it will take time to tell him ttatt because of that. but he does know i have no intemt of getting bPtized anymore.
sorry for typose my phone is not acting right....

Fortunately blood transfusions have become less of a medical application due to new surgery procedures and techniques,
its usually now given as a last resort in certain serious medical conditions.
The biggest problem the WTS. is that it was formed around a publishing house at its core operating agenda,
creating its own self imposed corruption.
There are better Christian based faiths/religions out there that are established to help the individual rather than
helping a publishing house function and operate. ...... really
