yep
my girlfriend is philipina--married there--but divorced here in the UK. just means she has to get an annulment there--which means fat bribes all round--so she can then meet the legal requirements to become my wife--eventually.

bigmac can she not become a citizen of your country? inquire: because
the Phillipine re-marriage rules for FOREIGNERS [and she will be foreigner], being under another jusrisdiction, are different, overriding Philippine law [although not the fat bribes doubled] and
if it is a UK wedding, does the UK not recognize a UK divorce?
An in-the-Phillipine wedding might be hughe, inexpensive, but there will be more close-quarter dancing here.

Almond, you seem pretty stuck on this issue.
Is appealing to the elders sense of justice even worth it? Why not wash your hands of it all and decide between yourself and the one you love what you want?

maybe a BLOWUP DOLL would be acceptable...
If you go that route, spend the extra few bucks for the the 3 hole models.

Bigmac,,
marry your filipina in UK,,, then ask her to AUTHENTICATE the Marrige,, then ask the Philippine Consulate in UK to notify the NATIONAL STASTICS OFFICE (NSO) in Philippines to update their DATABASE RECORDS...

Almond--i'm totally clued up on UK immigration rules. she HAS to get a CNI or CENOMAR in the philipines---which means an annulment is mandatory---in order to apply for settlement in the UK--
we are halfway into a 2 year process. shes been over here twice. several of the UK guys on here have met her.
the UK introduced new immigration rules in july 2012---which makes it a far more difficult process---with a 5 year timeline before settlement is secured. also it costs £ thousands.

I can vouch that she is not a figment of Malc's imagination.

Almond, why don't you ignore ALL the bureaucrats - secular and religious - and just move on with your life? Will your sweetheart be satisifed to have you at her side, without all the papers and approvals to make it official? Ignore those guys. Focus on her.
