The society has been setting dates for over a century, why not set your own!
Better wait till October 3rd, 2015. Just in case.
“Friday morning (October 2) [1914] we all were seated at the breakfast table when Russell came down. As he entered the room he hesitated a moment as was his custom and said cheerily, ‘Good morning all.’ But this morning, instead of proceeding to his seat as usual, he briskly clapped his hands and happily announced: ‘The Gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.’ We all applauded.” – Faith on the March.
You know what would be really good is if we somehow coordinated a specific date, such as the nearest Sunday meeting after Thursday, January 1, 2015, which would be Sunday, January 4, 2015 (since everyone has that meeting on the same day), and also a specific time, such as immediately after the song which is at the beginning of that week’s Watchtower study (whatever time it’s held in each local congregation), at which precise time us folks on here who have been waiting for the opportune time to finally leave the WTS while making a public statement would all stand up and clap rhythmically in unison while walking out – for good! (I’m talking turbocharged fading, as in with the afterburners on full; or better yet, with the US Saturn V or Soviet N‑1 or Soyuz rocket engines at full thrust – I’m talking launch time to freedom! Yeah!!)
Let’s go out with a bit of a bang! After 100 years, I think we’re all due.
For ALL those that refer to themselves as those that have already left the WTS and are out of it…is that really true???
Y’all spend everyday of your life talking about/keeping up to date with, etc with the WTS and JW’s, while so-called being out of it.
????????????
I will have another talk with my wife in August, a serious one. If that doesn't do the trick, 1.1.15 sounds like a great idea. This charade I play is getting long in the tooth.
@ Johnamos - people cope in different ways. I guess the same could be said about you since you're on this forum right? Just because you READ forums on a JW and exJW site, does this mean you're still "IN"???
When I say I will be out (physically) after so many years of knowing TTATT...i mean it. So much that I will reveal my TRUE IDENTITY here for those that would like to FB friend me or whatever else. See, I am very real. I'm not a troll or someone that doesn't understand people's struggles. My Journey is my own. I don't expect anyone to FOLLOW ME or do what I do.
So if you're a person that's out -- good for you. I guess everyone leaves when they want to right? Would be sad if you left the ORG because you felt pressured.
WTWIZARD - you said " the less likely you are to be forced into the new donation arrangement..."
Having ratted on my BOE to the Branch, I would dearly hope and pray that one of those Elders even tried to force or guilt me into doing anything!!!
Bunch of spineless, un - Scriptural, hypocritical, lying, weasels who'll cover for each other's serious wrongdoings!
@Raging Bull- The fact that you used the words “physically out” is exactly part of my point. Y’all think that just because you may have stop physically attending the KH that you are out, but yet you are ALL emotionally still in.
And this entire claim about knowing the TTATT, is that really so???
Why is it that many don’t seem to know that all the lies and false teachings and the way the GB are looked at by JW’s (as their golden calf) is all part of what exactly is prophesied!
Don’t you know that Jehovah and Jesus know just what is happening and will bring on the final attack on their people for those very reasons???
[And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying: 2 “Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and you must say to those prophesying out of their own heart, ‘Hear the word of Jehovah. 3 This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Woe to the stupid prophets, who are walking after their own spirit, when there is nothing that they have seen! 4 Like foxes in the devastated places are what your own prophets have become, O Israel. 5 YOU men will certainly not go up into the gaps, neither will YOU build up a stone wall in behalf of the house of Israel, in order to stand in the battle in the day of Jehovah.” 6 “They have visioned what is untrue and a lying divination, those who are saying, ‘The utterance of Jehovah is,’ when Jehovah himself has not sent them, and they have waited to have a word come true. 7 Is it not an untrue vision that YOU men have visioned, and a lying divination that YOU have said, when saying, ‘The utterance of Jehovah is,’ when I myself have spoken nothing?”’ 8 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “‘For the reason that YOU men have spoken untruth and YOU have visioned a lie, therefore here I am against YOU,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah.” 9 And my hand has come to be against the prophets that are visioning untruth and that are divining a lie. In the intimate group of my people they will not continue on, and in the register of the house of Israel they will not be written, and to the soil of Israel they will not come; and YOU people will have to know that I am the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, 10 for the reason, yes, for the reason that they have led my people astray, saying, “There is peace!” when there is no peace, and there is one that is building a partition wall, but in vain there are those plastering it with whitewash.’]
[And I must encamp on all sides against you, and I must lay siege to you with a palisade and raise up against you siegeworks. 4 And you must become low so that you will speak from the very earth, and as from the dust your saying will sound low. And like a spirit medium your voice must become even from the earth, and from the dust your own saying will chirp…And Jehovah says: “For the reason that this people have come near with their mouth, and they have glorified me merely with their lips, and they have removed their heart itself far away from me, and their fear toward me becomes men’s commandment that is being taught, 14 therefore here I am, the One that will act wonderfully again with this people, in a wonderful manner and with something wonderful; and the wisdom of their wise men must perish, and the very understanding of their discreet men will conceal itself.” 15 Woe to those who are going very deep in concealing counsel from Jehovah himself, and whose deeds have occurred in a dark place, while they say: “Who is seeing us, and who is knowing of us?” 16 The perversity of YOU men!]
[“Furthermore, when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. 21 Then let those in Ju·de´a begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; 22 because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled. 23 Woe to the pregnant women and the ones suckling a baby in those days! For there will be great necessity upon the land and wrath on this people; 24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled.]
[But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple [sanctuary], cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.]
[And you will be bound to come up against my people Israel, like clouds to cover the land. In the final part of the days it will occur, and I shall certainly bring you against my land, for the purpose that the nations may know me when I sanctify myself in you before their eyes, O Gog.”’…And the nations will have to know that it was because of their error that they, the house of Israel, went into exile, on account of the fact that they behaved unfaithfully toward me, so that I concealed my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they kept falling, all of them, by the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I did with them, and I kept concealing my face from them.’ 25 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Now is when I shall bring back the captive ones of Jacob and actually have mercy upon all the house of Israel; and I will show exclusive devotion for my holy name. 26 And they will have borne their humiliation and all their unfaithfulness with which they have acted toward me, when they dwell on their soil in security, with no one to make [them] tremble. 27 When I bring them back from the peoples and I actually collect them together out of the lands of their enemies, I will also sanctify myself among them before the eyes of many nations.’]
[“Between the porch and the altar let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep and say, ‘Do feel sorry, O Jehovah, for your people, and do not make your inheritance a reproach, for nations to rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples: “Where is their God?”’… “For, look! in those days and in that time, when I shall bring back the captive ones of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also collect together all the nations and bring them down to the low plain of Je·hosh´a·phat; and I will put myself on judgment with them there on account of my people and my inheritance Israel, whom they scattered among the nations; and they apportioned out my own land.]
Good for you. I hope your plan works out the way you intend. Once I learned TTATT, I had an exceptionally hard time even making it through an entire meeting. I did a fast fade and told my teen I wanted us to attend the memorial last year and then she didn't have to go again. She was thrilled.
This plan worked for us as all of our family lives out of state. Having a set date helps many people and also keeps you sane as you know there is an exit plan.
We run into witnesses often as we were part of several different congregations. They each act friendly and polite, without asking where we've been lately, which is actually strange to me, as I prefer not having fake relationships. Other than two texts and one phone message (after a year of not attending) just looking for our time, we've been left alone. I hope you have a similar experience.
