Take a high performance car as an example, lets say an F1 car. It has sensors for all sorts of things and all are feeding info to a computer either in the engine management system or straight to the pit wall.
Rule of thumb: no sensor no reading.

How do humans practice echolocation?? Hint: They have the same brain we do.

I like it X men and aliens.
Although, aliens have strange fish that walk on ground they have twenty legs and wide huge mouths! I guess our air would be cleaner!
DDog I watch YouTube so their could be some humans out there with abilities! Still working on why a little girl can make objects move.
It would be interesting if there was a gradual slight change in humans! Like the abilty to see microscopic organism. Although that would freak me out! Hear things common average person could not. Hmm that would give me a headache! For some reason people with higher IQ seem very different but nice and maybe they are part of the super human race! They are changing the world to a better place. It would be something,if some of these geniuses, kids, find cures to heal but accidentally caused x men. Cure common colds brings back telepathic abilities. I just making it up! But I understand what your saying and like it!
Can we really say with absolute certainty that abilities like, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, telepathy, ect, do NOT exist??
Yes I think we can.
It would be trivially easy to demonstrate these sort of powers - so where are they hiding?
Great examples, Vidiot. So out of billions of humans, how many more like them are out there? What if ANYONE can do what they are capable of? What if it's a "mind over matter" issue? Autism makes some parts of the brain have difficulty communicating with other parts. Sometimes a "talent" is made available. What if passing large amounts of electricity through your body could be acheived by consciously by-passing certain parts of the brain. Maybe running forever could also be learned?

Cofty, you said, "

Thinking isn't the same as KNOWING. I do agree that someone with an ability should be able to demonstrate it. Still, IF there was someone who had an ability that could be perceived as dangerous, they would be wise to hide IMO. I certainly would NOT demonstrate any unique skill that I had, if i thought it would endanger me. It seems like the human race is barely out of the Dark Ages sometimes.
If you can accept that over countless years, huge dinosaurs became birds, why is it so hard to accept the possibility that some humans have evolved unique abilities that we cannot explain yet?

Unless there is scientifically controlled evidence then its science-fiction.
Can we really say with absolute certainty that abilities like, .... telepathy, ect, do NOT exist.
In OZ, a former higher-upper (by name of Ron Walters) used to think (privately) that in the new system we would regain the ability to communicate by telepathy.
Such an idea though, has some troublesome aspects. Can everyone else read your thoughts? Would you really like that?
