One of the congs around here had the following illustration given by the secretary doing the part:
"if you had three kids, and had saved up $10,000 each for them for any emergency health needs, and one kid got sick and needed an operation that totalled more that the $10,000 reserved for him, would you hesitate to use the money saved for the other two kids to help him? Thats what the GB is asking us all to do worldwide...to help others without as much money"

Question: If the spin is that the loan is "forgiven" will the title to the Kingdom hall go back to the officers of the corporation?
It's my understanding that the reason KH's have been in constant remodeling is because the society, which loaned the money for the remodel, would hold the title. Hence, when the loan was repaid, suddenly it was time for another remodel and another loan. This was to prevent a Menlo Park KH situation. So if the loan is forgiven- who has the title and what names are on it?

"if you had three kids, and had saved up $10,000 each for them for any emergency health needs, and Watchtower told you to give them the money because your family needs to learn to rely on Jehovah instead of "worldly riches", would you hesitate to use the money saved for your three kids to help Watchtower make even more money after recently selling about a billion dollars worth of real estate*? Thats what the GB is asking us all to do worldwide...to stop putting our trust in unrighteous riches and give them all our money"
*A billion dollars is only an estimate since WT never, ever allows for any outside audits or public accounting for how their money is made or spent.
Why would you take the $20,000 allocated to the other two children, or even the $10,000 from the sick child if you had $1,000,000 in your own bank account?
Besides, it is not a matter of the organization having set aside money to give to each congregation (child), it is the congregations (children) that give to the parent.
The parent (if he hadn't been wise enough to have health insurance) would more than likely sell some of his properties in order to meet the debt. The Stanley Theatre alone would be a good example. But as far as the org. goes, they aren't talking about lifesaving necessities, rather just desireable 'wants' as opposed to 'needs'.
Auto checking account debits are what are going to happen. Maybe by next year. Its convenient, totally under the publishers control (all you have to do is tell the servant in charge to stop payment......yeah right), and the branch will get a general idea of how much they have to play with each month.

Yeah I see some back door way of tithing on the horizon.
They will "encourage" automatic drafts from the accounts of publishers.
The elders will get reports of these drafts. Of course the reports will be just for "accounting purposes" and so everything is handled "orderly and by arrangement."
The real world purpose will be to use it as another gauge of how "spiritual" a person is.
