I'm determined not to talk about my situation at all, I figure that they can't do much if I don't talk.
That's the ticket to beating them at their own game. Silence is much easier said than done though, especially when they tend not to leave you alone.
That "in good conscience" line will send them off digging for clues and will set the gossip in full motion along with quiet cautions against associating with you. Just sit back and watch them run in circles. Silence is golden.

It looks like the game has started sooner than I expected, the meeting is barely over and already I'm getting phone calls from the hall. (thank goodness for called id) I suspect that I'll be paid a visit this afternoon. Of course it will be a wasted one because I'm to busy cooking my seafood to talk to today.

It will be a difficult process which in all likelihood will include slandering, interrogation, subtle condescension, false pleas, and outright lies, but remember.. ONLY IF YOU LET THEM.

leander for God sake be carefull. At the end of the day, they will not see what you have done as CONCLUDING matters. There can only be one of 2 endings in thier eyes: you disfellowshipped OR in the heart of the organisation. There is no sitting on the fence. They will not know how to handle any other situation and they will cease to care about you as a person as they home in on this objective.

As long as you put your wishes down in writing they will not let you leave that easily. This post is in no way to chastise you, in fact, if anything, (((HUGS))) bravo Leander, for having the strength and fortitude to step down from a beauracratic and unloving organization. I only wrote the presiding overseer one letter in my life, and it was only after that when I realized how they put a legalistic spin on everything, and that by doing so, they would only do their very best to villanize me. I honestly believe that although the governing body thinks they're running everything, every single one of their decisions is reviewed by a lawyer body before it's publicly announced. They're no better than Enron...
