The WT CD only goes back to 1970 on Awakes I think. Fortuantly the KH library if full.... or was before I 'borrowed' a few unused books lol.
Well, what can you say???? I am speechless.

It is sad that so many JW listen to the faulty wisdom of the GB/FDS.The GB/FDS has been saying the end is so near, get a part time job so you can be in the full time service, there is little value in this system of things.Than they turn around and say,we are getting old in this system and have to prepare for it.Can't they make up their minds.Oh! sorry they knew all along that we would get old and die and there never was "the end is oh so close".A good scam.

Indeed. WT leaders are definitely bastards. Let's see- my aged JW parents are now almost 89 and 87 years old. In 1969 they were 44 and 42 years old respectively. I don't know what happened to the " you will never grow old in this system of things " - but between you and me - I believe my JW parents were lied to by WT leaders. Am I missing something here ? No, I don't think I am- but 7 million JW's are. They are being duped

I remember seeing a washtowel rag with an article that the stock market was going to crash, and gold and silver would become worthless. This means investments in stocks would become toilet paper, AND investment in gold and silver would go toward nothing. Result: No one made either type of investment--those believing in a stable dollar could invest in stocks, while those believing the dollar was damned could invest in gold and/or silver. But no, both were damned. This meant one could cut way back on work and pious-sneer and/or give all their money to the Washtowel.
Result: People not having anything to retire on. The washtowel gets what it wants--people deprived of funds. Remember, they are after more than your money (otherwise, they could generate doctrines that would enrich the congregation members along with tithing). Instead, they want you broke. They want poverty engraved on your soul. That is why they come up with short-dated prophesies that dissuade any type of investment.
Which I don't abide by any more. Had I ditched that theology, I could have bought silver while it was just 4 toilet papers an ounce. A whole monster box of silver for the amount I wasted just on Grand Boasting Sessions. Another monster box for the amount I wasted on littera-trash, and another for the amount wasted on other expenses associated with being a jokehovian. And I could have worked quite a few nights instead of attending boasting sessions, enabling me to afford yet more silver. That way, when the dollar does crash, it would fling me right up into the upper class. With as little as 2,500 ounces of silver (that is just five monster boxes), I would have more than 99% of the population--that would fling me right into the top 1% of being wealthy at the same time the dollar becomes toilet paper. But instead, I wasted it on listening to the smut about silver becoming worthless along with stocks. Hence, I have to settle for a measly 600 ounces when it could have been 2,500.

I agree with mrquik; I feel pretty bad now, I can't imagine how much worse I'd feel if I was getting older too...
