I am registered here but I mostly lurk and read the interesting threads.
I have a couple of questions regarding this new pledge arrangement.
A friend from Europe told me that their elders sent each family a letter telling them to write down the amount of money they can expect from them.
The 'pledge' is anonymous and per family.The money is going to the local congregation's monthly rent and NOT payments going to the branch.
I will ask my friend how many pledges their congregation is making.
My questions are:
1.Are all congregations doing this or is it just this European congregation?
2.So how many pledges are there? 1 for congregational expenses and 1 for money sent to the branch?

This is to inform you that effective September 1, 2014, there will be only one midweek congregation meeting during the visit of the circuit overseer. The meeting will be scheduled on Tuesday evening and will include the Theocratic Ministry School, the Service Meeting, and a service talk by the circuit overseer. This adjustment should help ensure that the arrangement for weekly family worship is maintained even during that busy week of theocratic activity. The material for the Congregation Bible Study that week should be considered on a personal basis, perhaps during family worship."

From now on I will pay every thing as a pledge. I have already sent annonymous notes to my Utilities Co, Bank Mtg, Internet, tel, car loan co's. It should work, eh?
The only problem is when I buy my groceries. When I give the clerk at the Custumer Service desk this pledge on a piece of paper, she calls security to escort me out of the store.

I just had a look at the threads. They talking about the new financing arrangement through pledges with money being sent to the Watchtower society for KH &AH construction work.
My question was regarding what the cong mentioned is doing: Requesting families to put a pledge on paper for congregational expenses i.e rent to the national Kingdom Hall Association.
The elders want to know how much they can expect from each family.
I didn't see that mentioned on the links you provided, but they are long threads so I will read on to see if other congs are giving pleges for local expenses as well as another pledge for funds to the society(or if this is a local arrangement)

What a bunch of pipe dreaming delusional ass holes these creeps on the Governing Body are. Yeah right they cancel a meeting and hope every rank and file drone will be faithful and keep an unsupervised weekly family worship night going strong. Even the most brained dead dip shit knows when the cat away the mice will play. They should have added the proper "don't make Jehovah all sad and weepy" by missing the Faithful and Discreet Slaves suggested 'family worship nite'. What about a casino night or a elder's night out with the good o'boys night? How about a sister's night out on the town night?
