    Magnum,

Aggressive behavior like entering an unknown home and fighting with the resident cats.

I was worried about them spreading disease to MY CATS not to me, silly.

It was a dangerous situation, not least because cats can get severely injured in a cat fight and suffer from infections.

It's almost as if you don't believe the violence of the fighting in my house. I was there. It was vicious. My cats went to the vet the next day.

I AM the crazy cat lady and nobody, whether human or feline, messes with my cats!

Oh, GT, I am guilty of skimming your post. DIdn't realize you knew it was a feral cat.

What a shame, the poor thing. And of course, you had to protect your family (pride) ......... but still. LOL! at the pyjama thing.

It's true - one bite on your cat's tail, for example, could cause an infection that, in 24 hours, could kill your domestic friend. The feral cat situation is so sad. xoxo

We ASSUMED it was a feral cat and that turned out to be correct, but we didn't know what it was at first. It could have been any kind of animal with the hellish kinds of sounds we heard.

It seems like maybe folks on here have never lived anywhere where they've had to see squalid conditions and suffering on a daily basis. It was a nasty place. The animal kingdom suffered, too.

Yes, imagine living in a place where there is suffering all around and you're helpless to stop it all. Day in and day out. You learn to protect your own.

You can't fix the city. You can only move out.

Now my one original cat and my new orange tabby live in a nice house on a nice street with a nice little yard. There are sunny windows to sit in and a big yard for chasing rabbits and squirrels. Mr. Orange tabby shocked himself the other day when he caught a bug and you should have seen his eyes when it jumped away and he caught it again. So proud of himself. And I'm always out there with him so he doesn't run into the street. It's a good life. This is what I've always wanted for my cats and what I've always wanted for my kid and myself and my husband.

That's why I live here and not in the city anymore.

I live in the foothills, so we get a lot of critters, coyotes, bears, deers,

and our friend the skunk. We have learn to co-exist with most but

the skunk is a different story.

A few years ago a family (skunks nested under my back step), 4 babies.

For a week I coudn't go in my back yard the little ones were all over the place.

After I plugged the hole they left but every year afterward they returned, digging

in the spot they were born.

I called Animal control, they told me "We will provide a trap for you and after

they are dead we will come and pick them up".

If they spray underneath the house, we will have to move. LOL

This is the time of the year when they have their offspring.
