Why didn't Jehovah destroy the polygamists just as he did the Sodomites?

According to Jehovah's Witnesses, both gays and polygamists are fornicators, why spear one and not the other?

"In old age Jacob admitted that his life—including his domestic affairs—had been distressing. (Genesis 47:9) Doubtless, life had been distressing for Leah and Rachel as well. Their experiences highlight the sad consequences of polygamy and illustrate why Jehovah established that a man should have one wife. (Matthew 19:4-8; 1 Timothy 3:2, 12) Jealousy results when the romantic or sexual interests of a husband or a wife are not limited to one person—his or her spouse. That is one reason why God prohibits fornication and adultery.—1 Corinthians 6:18; Hebrews 13:4."

Since the Jehovah's Witnesses deemed polygamy as fornication YET Jehovah tolerated such ones, why did He not tolerate the Sodomites?

Should the Jehovah's Witnesses' God not have destroyed the "fornicators" that married multiple wives just as He did the sinners in Sodom and Gomorrah?

That always bothered me. Why did Jehovah let King David off for committing adultery and then covering it up with murder when he put Judah's son to death because he refused to have children with his dead brother's widow? The answer lies in the fact that the Bible writers are presenting a one-sided view of history.

I always thought part of the reason polygamy was "tolerated" by God was because it hastened the spread of humans "filling" the earth.

More of a pragmatic reason. Still sucks though, (for the women).

I overheard 3 elders talking about homosexuality as if it were a sin deserving a greater punishment than adultery. I asked what was greater than death. They turned surprised I had overhead them...one blurted out, "it's gross sin which is worse than other sins." The next said that adultery was "natural" or normal sex. I said that God viewed both as a capital offense and what other sins were considered "gross." What would God do resurrect the homosexual and killl them twice?

So adultery is natural?! According this this quote, murder and adultery are gross sins too.

    *** it-1 p. 585 David ***

This shepherd, musician, poet, soldier, statesman, prophet, and king stands out in the Hebrew Scriptures in great prominence. Here was a fierce fighter on the battlefield who showed endurance under hardships, a leader and commander strong and unwavering in courage, yet humble enough to acknowledge his mistakes and repent of his gross sins,

    *** it-2 p. 761 Reconciliation ***

True, some men have been more overt or gross in their sinning than others, even being openly rebellious; but sin is sin, whatever the degree or extent. Since all are sinners, all men descended from Adam have, without exception, needed the reconciliation with God that his Son’s sacrifice made possible.

A good number of Commentators on the story of Sodom view the sin of the people as lack of hospitality and courtesy to guests as the sin of Sodom, not homosexuality.
