CultBgone, it shouldn't since they don't count you after 6 months of inactivity if I remember correctly. It makes the inactive count look better.

maninthemiddle - "Despite what some say I remain convinced there is effort underway to purge faders."

    'Course there is.

Faders are inactive (rather than DFed), which means that that some rank-and-filers still feel free to talk to them...

...but faders are faders for a reason, and I doubt very much that the WT heirarchy wants them to tell any curious rank-and-filers what those reasons might be.

    Hmm.

Reminds me of something someone else suggested a while back on JWN (can't remember who)...

...that maybe the WTS is pushing for JW kids to get baptized early, now, because if they learn the TATT after they're dunked, they can be DFed for talking (after all, they can't DF an unbaptized young person who tells people about the TATT).

Don't let them manipulate you. Jump before you are pushed. No shame in walking away. It's up to you now.

    All the best mate.

What part of this scripture does the Society and the Elders not understand?

Romans 14 5 & 6 5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

What they don't know it's in the NT?

Scary21. Erm, the pictures of the tree on Facebook may have given it away! Oh, and the kids telling everyone. Funny thing is, my wife has a long term illness and hardly ever got to the meetings. She did want to at the time. After many debates with an elder when I started to drift, he said"be careful what you say". After that, I feel he deliberately let me get away. He could see I was a lost cause but didn't want me to feel the consequences of my big mouth. Since then, the elders have tried to contact my wife about 2 or 3 times. Once the same elder knocked on the door with the CO, unannounced, while I was out. No further contact for her until now. It's too late boys! She has seen it for what it is. Fake concern.

I couldnt help myself. I texted him earlier and said thanks for your concern. I feel sorry for you mate, having to call me. He answered " don't worry about me, we are just concerned for your family". He probably means it. Nice guy really. Still, too little, too late. Not sorry though. One out all out and enjoying freedom

He did warn you, but when you are dealing with a small child, things don't always register immediately, even though we respond. Then a couple hours later say "oh, crap!"

Since your immediate family is out and you do not wish to play by jw rules, look at your caller id before answering your phone, and if it's a witness, let it go to voice mail. Then don't return the call. Should they show up unannounced at your home and catch you by surprise, a quick "this is a bad time, please call first" should suffice. Some elders are good about giving people their space, others live for making trouble. Hopefully you are dealing with a good one who will go away & leave you in peace.
