That's it, they are being paid to offer customer service, not be your best friend. The up shot is, they're a terrible witness to the manager and other workers, and other customers too. Anyone who knows about it will think twice before taking magazines offered at their doors by smiling, well-dressed well-spoken people on a Saturday morning.
My friends have made a stand on shunning.

While good customer relations are vital to any business, in my personal experience it just is not a point of great emphasis at a grocery store. Besides a friendly hello to the cashier, I barely speak to anyone, and I don't expect them to strike up a conversation with me either.
On the other hand, the OP is a regular customer, so perhaps a rapport exists, in which case it would certainly be reasonable to expect to receive at least a warm greeting in reply from employees.

Quelly,
That's great the other workers said something to management. Have you been in today? Any developments?

I'm glad you have support, and that the employees are being called on their rudeness.
Funny story with my JW mom that I will post again: She was telling me how my DIL's mom is kind of nuts because she wouldn't talk to her daughter for months when she became pregnant out of wedlock. she was mad and told her she disapproved. She took awhile to warm up to her, but she did-she would have had a cow if she aborted. Anyway, to my mom, her behavior was nuts. AND she doesn't like my son (I adore my son,but I fully see why a MIL be upset about his behavior. I often am too, but that's a diff story)
So this woman did what mom thinks is appropriate to do to a JW who strays but for a non JW, it indicates mental illness. The mom cooled down, daughter was sorry (but couldn't change it!)and they are close again and she loves the baby like we all do.
Most JWs would still be shunning unless she dumped the baby's dad and groveled before a JC or married the father and sat at the backof the hall for a year or two.

Way to go Quelly. I can't imagine management will tolerate that type of behavior so it will be interesting to see what happens the next time you are in.

A very interesting situation Quelly .
A question or two for you . I presume these JW`s are on the checkout registers , If you go through their checkout do they ignore you ? Are they rude to you ? Shun you ? If so , you , or your freinds , have a very good case .
If on the other hand they are employed in that supermarket where they dont have personal contact with customers , eye to eye so to speak , you / they wouldnt have a case . Your freinds could be accused of just trying to cause trouble due to predjudice against their religion.
I am just trying to get the facts right here , without the emotion.
I look forward to your clarification of this situation and especially its outcome .
