Everything i wear apart from socks and undies are 2nd hand, so not a lot.

Its funny isnt, how a person can spend 2 hours grooming themselfs in the morning, ( ok i exagerate) but i started this post because of the growing designer hire fashion. I mean designer bags cost a lot of money new, and there are so many cheap fakes about but people hire them to complement there hired dress. Seems a lot of trouble to create an impression.
Still i understand Moss Bross hire out formal jackets and each hired jacket makes £ 10, 000 in its life time. Wow.
Ok i would hire a Dinner Jacket if its a one of occassion i would wear it, but i wish i was the one doing the hiring.

I too am somehat vain. I put makeup on almost daily. I use Clinique, botox the eye area-which isn't cheap-every four to six months. Get hair cuts every 2 months, along with highlights. Lift weights daily. I get a lot of clothes at Salvation Army store near me, there is an enormous hospital system in my area and those families get rid of some really nice stuff.

It all depends on the occasion, doesn't it? I'd dress up to meet President Obama. I even have the dress picked out.
I've also recently added forty minutes of exercise a day to my daily regimen. It's not a waste at all. Being healthy, I think is not vain.
Here's a great interactive graph that shows how people spend their day. Guess what wins?

Last time I looked, computer time was digging in to time dedicated personal hygiene. So perhaps our society is not becoming increasingly self-absorbed about their appearance.

I am not vain, I spend very little time worrying about how I look or what I wear. As long as I am clean and covered, I'm good to go. I am uninterested in fashion or make up or hairstyling, but I will spend a small fortune on comfortable shoes.

Does anybody here actually ever purchase designer clothes that are not heavily discounted?

You can tell by my name what I do! Lol! Yes, I love all of the girly things along with designer clothes. I can remember as a very young girl looking at womens nails, jewelry, make-up, clothes and purses. I honestly think there is a girly gene. :)
My niece gave me this name when she was about 4 years old and it stuck, the funny thing she is a milder version of me.
