    Dear Violet,

In my own experience I have to echo gsx's opinion . . . since leaving christianity none of my spiritual experiences or revelations have been negative, much less malevolent.

I was just commenting the other day in fact that the only demonic encounters I had heard of were from people that believed in demons (christians etc.)

Hylander said something to the effect that encounters people attributed to demons were in fact misinterpreted encounters with ghosts. My opinion is along the same bent but I actually do not believe in ghosts or demons, I look at it pretty vaguely.

I think we are too quick to assign characteristics and personalities to things we don't understand. Yes I believe there is great and mysterious power in the universe and I think we can access it, however I think it is neither 'good' nor 'bad' until manifested through the filter of our personal belief system.

In short I say believe what you want, just know that what you believe is likely what you'll get . . . so make it a good thing.

    take care,

As a teen, raised JW, father was an elder , mother was on prescription drugs,, there were some freaky things that happened
in our home. I wont eloborate on them now, but it was real.
I dont know if I imagined it, or it was some kind of brainwashing
I just dont know if I can trust what happened , as being demons
or something eles. If I could say for sure it was demons, then it
would make me beleive in God more. I am having trouble beleiving the
Bible and even God's exsistence right now. It is a horrible feeling to lose your faith. I am trying to find it, but I know I wont find it by reading books, or the bible even,,, after all , it is all an interpretation of some man. I would love to have an experience with
some supernatural , to make me beleive there are forces out there.
Even if it was not pleasant , it might make be beleive again. But
of course , I would hope that if my mother is in heaven , she will find a way to let me know. So from time to time , I pray to get faith. Nothing yet.

    Demons? Satan? Spirits? Ghosts? Where?

I am not scared of the dark.

I am not scared of demons, Satan, "spirits", or ghosts.

This is simply because I know that they don't exist.

When I do see one (if), then I will acknowledge their existence. I've been alive 20 years, and so far, zip, nada. Being an extremely sensitive person, capable of divining (pun absolutely intended) the moods of others with pretty good accuracy, I would surmise I'd be one of those people who sees this sort of thing regularly. Unfortunately, I am not. Is perhaps some region of my mind crippled?

The house I live in (giant building, used to be an embassy), is supposedly haunted as a serial killer lived here in the 70s. I feel absolutely nothing. If anything, this place is beautiful in the dark. Having good night vision, I rarely if ever switch on lights when I walk around at night, and so far, I haven't seen or heard anything out of the ordinary.

Hyghlander: What is this scientific evidence of demon/human interaction of which you speak?

Well my viewpoint comes from the witches Law of Three. Whatever you put forth will be returned to you threefold. You want to believe the spirits are evil they will come to you three times evil. Sort of a cause and effect theory. It also runs along the lines of Karma.

Dear Lord, please save me from your followers.

I have to agree with gsx and others. While an active JW, there were several negative encounters. Since leaving, I have never experienced anything that could be called "demonic".

Makes you wonder. If there are demons, could their plan be to keep those who are supporting them from leaving? They know full well that JWs will cling ever closer to the BOrg if they believe that they are being threatened by "demons". What better way to keep your followers close than by the perceived threat of evil if one should leave "mother"?
