Welcome to the board. That was one of the best opening posts I've seen here. I thought you did a good job despite the grilling by the Managers of the Religious Publishing Corp.

When I was an elder you mainly just referred to the Organization. Now with all the mention by those elders about The Governing Body and The Faithful Slave (now only the GB) the religion has morphed into full blown CULT.

I like how you said turning in time made you feel less spiritually strong. Sorry I can't remember your exact wording, but I remember thinking, wow that sounds reasonable to me! The problem is JWs demand uniformity/conformity and don't know how to make exceptions, even reasonable ones. Everyone must follow the rules.

I too hated turning in time and one day I quit going to meetings, quit turning in time, then the calls from the elders one day stopped, and then....nothing. I didn't hear from them again and I felt like a burden had been lifted from my shoulders. I wish you the best.

I listened to the whole video, unfortunatly I could not hear the elders comment on porn because those sisters were too loud!

Their repeated mention of the gb shows me how much this religion has changed in the nearly 9 years since I gave up going to meetings.

This new gb are worshipped, and that is what they want.

I never minded handing in my fs report, but your recording shows the org demands you follow its rules even when it goes beyond what the bible says.

That was one of the most damning recordings of cult-like mentality from elders, that I've ever listened to! Their reasoning is so wrong and so blatantly cult-like, that listening to them makes me feel like I'm waking up to a whole new plane of being awake even though I've already been awake for about 2 years!

Thanks for the post sg I just listened to your recording today. I found a few things I interesting. You made the comment about a cog in the machine, I just said the same thing in a post I made Saturday before I viewed your video, we definitely are on the same page lol.

its also telling that the elders right away went to ask if you have been reading anything else. That is the first thing my elders asked me. then they ask right away if you still believe the gb is the FDS. they all think the same and go into protection mode right away, sickening. hang in there buddy your head is in the right place.
