It is indeed the new phonograph.......When we get to have a coffee with a group of dubs ( yes we do that ) the conversation is of Apple vs Android : Is a Hudl any good? etc etc . At the meetings when I go , the number of tablets is growing fast while the FSO (Field Service Overseer coos warmly about the new vid on you-know-where.

This does nothing for the oldies if they are techno challenged or hard up and some grumbles are heard, but quietly since nobody dare be a rebel (and if The Society say it, then it must be right) . Obe elder sympathetically carries a quote from them saying that you do not have to have one and books will always be printed ....but that is a small drop in an ocean of stuff about the website.

I'm surprised it too them so long to adapt to the new media. They are a publishing company and everything is being published digitally so they should have know it was coming and been ahead of the game and they could have influenced it. But that would take forethought and the Society never seems to exercise that. It saves money and can be modified and tweaked at any time. They will always print but they will print less and less....

iPads and other Apple products are not for Christians: http://www.svhelden.info/witchtower/2012/05/questions-from-readers-can-microsoft-really-be-the-true-religion/

Some claim that ... Apple would be the true religion. They point out that Apple’s products are used “to the most distant part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) But ... the website The Straight Dope says: “Early Christian scholars often took the forbidden fruit to be an apple.” So Apple is not the true religion; rather the products of this company are the ‘forbidden fruits,’ “something to be longed for to the eyes,” to distract people from true worship.

    Great catch Pistoff.

The best way to keep mindless drones on script.

It is a trend that started with the "Reasoning" book. In the 80s/90s we were encouraged to get it out and quote from it if the householder raised an objection.

JWs can no longer defend their own beliefs without referring to a script.

Defending those beliefs " -- with DEEP respect, MILDNESS--" was a powerful mind - control tool, we had to teach, know those doctrines.

will watching vidoes with the house holder do that? or

will threats, obey-or-else rethoric have to replace the "mildness" part?

    That's a good point, PROLOGOS.
