I would want to ask if dinosaurs proved to exist, would they be forced to give up their belief in God?

It is a good question jgnat.

Sooner or later dogma has to yield to evidence. Its always entertaining to observe the way fundies rationalise their step-by-step retreat.

What was crucial at one time becomes secondary.

It turns out that a roadrunners top speed is 26mph and a coyote can hit 40.

Yes, but roadrunners are not even the tiniest bit shy about taking to wing when they're truly frightened. They're not accomplished flyers (About like Quail) but it still gets them out of danger, which is another cartoon myth shattered.

--Your childhood experience with Warner Bros. shows the importance of getting information from reliable sources. When it comes to dinosaurs, I would put religion in the cartoon category.

A Christian should have a good long think about what hill they want to die on. If they claim, "All hills are equally important", they risk killing their faith on a weak position.

Another example where chess helped me.

If these believers keep retreating so fast, will they eventually disappear up their own er..... Fundie ?

Fundies did not always dominate the headlines. This modern bunch are a product of the industrial revolution. Their position was always untenable. All the better to inflame fanatics.

We only started finding dinosaurs 200 years ago, THAT is why religion ...wooops.... has nothing to say about it.

Actually, this is not accurate. Humans have discovered dinosaur remains for millennia, but did not understand what they were. The ancient Chinese thought that were dragons. Europeans often thought they were from the "giants" mentioned in the Bible. It took a while for a more objective, scientific world-view to clarify our understanding.

In 1699, Edward Lhuyd, was responsible for the first published scientific treatment of what would now be recognized as a dinosaur when he described and named a sauropod tooth, "Rutellum implicatum", that had been found in Caswell, near Witney, Oxfordshire.

Ironically, it was a minister, the Rev William Buckland, that was the first person to describe a dinosaur in a scientific journal. Buckland was also a professor of geology at Oxford University, particularly between 1815 and 1824 he collected more fossilized bones of Megalosaurus.

I was talking to my mother about PREDATION, spiders, etc, She said all these hideous creatures were made by Satan after the 'fall".

That is dubbiespeak, I kid you not.
