Then it's okay for mainline churches and non-Christians to teach falsehood as well, as far as I'm concerned. When I became a JDub, the emphasis was on "accurate knowledge," not just whatever was said by the scum that rose to the top.

The end is nigh, data dog. They will ask you, "Do you believe the governing body is being used by Jehovah/directed by Jesus?" And if you say "no", you're dfd. If you refuse to answer like I did, you then have to avoid them by stopping meetings. If you say yes, you are lying but you will be ok.

Good point, Mum!! I will ask the wife about that? If it's okay to teach falsehood ( which they admitted by saying that it was ok that Bible Students used the cross and celebrated Christmas) then why are they always dissing "Christendom" all the time? Of course, they will say," Look at the ORG!", conveniently ignoring its money grubbing, propaganda, and pedophile cover-ups.

There is NO difference between the core behaviors of the WTBTS, Scientology, or the Mormons. They are all cults who use coercion and mind control.

Julia, you may be right. They just consider me weak and having doubts. We will see what happens.

What is more important, unity or truth?

Unity has no value beyond apperance. What is the benefit of being united in a false belief?

It is illogical and irrational to listen to such thinking.

You are right, Snare. It boggles my mind. Getting someone else to see the insanity is another matter. I may have to be DF'd or have more meetings to wake up the wife. There just aren't any guarantees.

    DD,

I am so sorry to hear youR wife puts the BORG, before you...you should remind her that the bible say's. Let no man pull apart what God has yoked together.

In other words, she sould consider her marriage more important than the BORG. I too have expressed to my wife that I dont' agree with what the BORG teaches. She made a comment about going to the brothers. I told her that that woud cause a huge amount of problems. none of which she is ready to go through.

sometimes she will say things about what she thinks she know....i usually counter with a comment that shows different. I than say...we will not talk about the JW beliefs...because I don't feel like arguing. 99.9% of the time we don't talk about the JW's. when we do our family study it is strickly about the bible.

one thing that truely bothers me is...she really has never been taught about Jesus. So she never talks about him or includes him. I have shown her over and over how important Jesus is and what the bible say's about him. I take it she has been brainwashed so long she may never wake up.

Preach whatever the magazines say, even if it's wrong?! YES, that shows loyalty - to the ORG! Keep the status quo, and sit down sit down sit down you're rockin' the boat!

My husband was real nice after he decided to quit going to the meetings. He said, "It's fine with me if you want to go but I'm not going anymore."

So I kept going for several more years. I began to miss meetings more often as time went by. People were just not as happy to see me without my husband at the meetings for some reason. That cooling off towards me was just one of many reasons that I began to be aware of my cog-dis. I really was afraid of changes in my social life if I left the WT and lost my friends but finally I couldn't take the time-wasting crap anymore.

So I understand where you're at with all this stuff, D-D!

Oh man DD! Props to you bro! Just enduring that meeting earns you major points in my book. Was your wife there to hear that nonsense? That took major courage. I know meetings like this are in my near future. The day I tell my wife that I am not going to the meetings, and I dont even fake sick, I just dont want to go.. Look out! She will ask why, and If I say because I cant sit through it anymore hearing falsehoods passed off as truth, she will involve my parents, the elders.. Everyone! At that point I need to have my ducks all in a row. I will need to make good arguments, not to win the elders over, but to show my wife I sincerly cannot do it anymore. You must be very good and careful with your words to avoid getting df for apostasy.

Goingthroughthemotions- That is sad isnt it? Here are people that fancy themselves the ONLY true CHRISTians!! Yet they almost NEVER mention Christ! And if you mention him they give the all too familiar silent, deer in the headlights look.

They have unity because they get rid of everyone that disagrees. That strategy works in North Korea and it works for the Watchtower.
