I am a little curious too, why the sudden inundation of information about possible terrorist acts? Did you hear the one which suggested they were renting aparments to load up with explosives?

What worries me more than the possibility of 'small' random acts of terrorism is what might happen in response to such . . . I DO NOT WANT TO LIVE IN A POLICE STATE! I also think the weapons grade uranium sitting around in some of the poorly guarded reactor facilities around the world is a serious concern.

Why suddenly the great increase in warnings and speculation on attacks? Is the government aware that something will happen soon and are they just making sure we are amply cautioned so it doesn't come 'out of the blue', which would take a little of the heat off them?

I am concerned and always observant, however I have felt for sometime now that we are pretty much doomed as a species anyway if we don't rid ourselves of greed and fear and accept responsibility for our individual souls, not leaving that to some church or belief system from without the individual.
This would naturally bring about acknowledgement of our responsibility to each other, as well as the planet, and bring with it awareness of the indivisibility of all things.

Barring that we'll go out however, and whenever we as a community spirit choose, judging from the indications it won't be too far in the future. If you have any doubts about the seriousness and severity of our effects on the planet do a little research (check out the satellite footage of the disintegration of the Larsen B ice shelf this April for instance) and when your done with that and telling yourself the scientists predictions of another 50 years or so of 'normalcy' check out 'the butterfly effect' and the general theories of chaos. I have done the research and what I have learned is the shit could hit the fan anytime people, serious global shit.

You don't need to feel helpless or afraid, JUST LOOK INTO YOURSELF FOR THE ANSWER, you won't find it without.

When I heard about the safety alerts going on around NY, it only makes me more glad that I live in (relatively) safe Australia.

Picture on today's New York Times was of some police/military folks at a checkpoint at one of the ramps to the Brooklyn Bridge. In the background was Factory Bldg #2. You could just make out the beige bldg with the green window frames. I hope they're checking all those Bethelite ID's on the way in!
