If END is Imminent, Why Witness in Silence in Public Places?

I think the WTBT$ has fully realized how much of a waste of money (the volunteer's time is not a concern of theirs) it is to be spreading literature all over the world in the traditional door-to-door activity. Ninety-nine percent of what is placed at the doors is thrown directly in the trash. Highly ineffective. So, they have obviously decided, in their infinite wisdom, to transition into an online presence with JW.ORG which costs a mere fraction of what running a global printing company does. It makes perfect sense from a business standpoint if you wanted to keep the money you have and stop bleeding money you do not have to. However! It will take time to get this re-branding campaign fully operational in the minds of the rank and file JDub so that they have a full "buy in" to the new program. So, in the meantime, during this transitional phase, the literature trollies are the thing to do to keep the devout rank and file active and mentally engaged in their routine. I would bet that the literature trollies will go away completely within just a couple of years once the JW.ORG campaign is fully implemented.

If the end is imminent, why:

    > Cut the magazine issues in half?

    > Cut the issues printed in half?

    > Eliminate district overseers?

    > Reduce Pioneer hour requirements?

    > Cut the number of assembly days down?

    > Build a GB and other higher up mucky mucks a nice retirment compound in Warwick ( a four year project)?

    > sell all of the Brooklyn real estate?

    > sell 14 Branch offices?

    > pilfer congregations for more money?

    > direct people to get their life-saving "truth" from a crappy website rather than just talk to them?

    > continue to build the WT empire rather than going all-out in a final preaching effort using tv, radio and newspaper advertising like Harold Camping did?

ADCMS- excellent list you have there. Dead on. Those are smart CORPORATE decisions, not "earthly kingdom of god" decisions.

Haven't they about given up on this generation? I get the feeling they only want to attract those who are actively seeking (seek and you will find) for the truth. You can't find them at the doors any more (other than the shut-ins) because people are either working or driving their kids to soccer practice.

jgnat- people are on their phones and iPads. That is why the QR's are popping up all over the place amongst the devout rank and file. The QR's are direct links to the JW.ORG to get a quick (see: cheap) sermon to some unsuspecting person who happens to click on the QR that their "friend the JW" sent them or shared on social media. It is all so predictable and formatted.

    The real reason for JW.Org:

JWs are so ill-equipped to answer any Bible questions or defend their own beliefs (because they don't actually know what their beliefs are and how they arrived at such beliefs), it's better to just send people to a website. Plus, WT controls what information is available to any potential victims converts. Too risky to have a JW do the 'splaining.

    lol designs.

    It's what ADCMS said.

There is a mild attempt to address the dilemma in the October WT in the article containing a suggested response to the 1914 issue in a conversation format.

Smoke and mirrors. Keep the RBC and jw.org in the face of the faithful to make them thing the WTBS is somehow relevant today.
