So I am new to this site.

I have left the organization of my own accord. And doing very well.

Why do those of you who are still active, if you are on this site, still attend?

It is no differance to me... I am just wondering why...

Usually because of family who are still in. Or it could be an ego issue.....the desire to retain an important position since being an Elder may be the highest achievement in your life....especially if you passed up college.

Perhaps your not all the way out...yet. It's one thing to belittle the borg another thing to not believe in a Jehovah, Jesus and the Bible.

    Inertia.

    Good thought.

Shame many who are in but minds are out can not experiance the joy and freedom when we leave.

I do miss my family. However the many friends I thought I had were CONDITIONAL friends.

The friends I now have are TRUE friends that have no judgement or alternative motives.

One can still beleive in God and Christ without the WBTS telling them what to think.

I joined a Site like this when I was still atending Meetings, I was inactive as to F.S because I was waiting for an Elder to come back to me on the 1914 doctrine so that I could teach it in good conscience, being a lover of truth.

The Elder never came back, and within a couple of months I had found this Site and stopped attending too.

To be fully active within the JW's, and yet know TTATT, is a strange position to be in. It must cause all sorts of conscience induced wranglings of the soul. and like you, I cannot understand such a person's motives and feelings. They certainly cannot love truth as much as I do.

To be half out, and yet trying to get loved ones out too, I can fully understand, but serving Elders for example ? Weird.

A belated, but warm welcome here, ducatjoe.

I've been unable to go anywhere near an apostate Watchtower Kingdom Hall since walking out mid-2009.

I would find the mindless deception and "pointless" busy-ness way too sickening.

I was too an Elder for many years with Convention speaking assignments. But I was living a double life.

I was DFed and rightly so. I still beived in the WBTS and came back.

It was after my reinstatment that I atarted to look at the organization differantly.

Once my thinking about the truth in the teaching abd control of members it was still hard to make the leap to leave.

I could have never imagined how well all would turn out.

If any are wondering.. just ask some of us. Sent a message if any need help.

In or out.. best to all!

I attended after I began posting here because of family.

I didn't DA because of family.

I got sucked into this cult because of family.

Family... the ties that bind... and gag.

I'm attending meetings although DFed. The casual sexism and racism has seen me walk out a few times (I pretend I'm choked up with grief and emotion rather than anger) but other than that I just browse on my phone. I have to say the new developments for online makes distractions easier!

I had left before I ever found this site, but I think many come here for moral support as they make plans to leave or are fading. Many people have no friends outside the organization, that can be hard when you realize the truth about the truth, it's not like you can discuss it down at the kingdom hall. Some are staying in for family reasons, this place gives them a place to vent, get ideas about how to talk to their family.
