Hi lurkernomore ,and HUGE WELCOME to posting on JWN. I live in Southern England, and I too was amazed at how quickly everything changed for me once my eyes were opened.

Good luck with your exit, and we are all here to help should you need it.

    Welcome!

I also lurked here for a long time before joining...now this forum is my lifeline to sanity!

Yes, it is amazing how the "scales fall from our eyes" once the truth of the org is known. And the more research done too, the more the threads unravel!

But that is not a bad thing...it is actually a refreshing thing.

    lurkernomore: welcome aboard.

I was a lurker for a short time too, but as you are experiencing for yourself, there are so many helpful and friendly people who post here.

I hope you experience the same amount of happiness I have had since leaving the JW cult.

    Keep posting.

    Lurker!

You are one of the lucky ones. So many on here including myself are still struggling years later to help their mate see TTATT.

That being said, I'd say it is morally incumbent upon you to share how you approached your wife, or at least how you two shared your doubts and researched together.

Thanks for the link Bigmac. I have no intentions of turning back Kate, but as with a lot of people on this forum it may just take a while to get to where we want to be!

We are in a fairly rural area and i know a lot of Witnesses in neighbouring congregations as is the case with cities too i guess.

What makes it easier is that i have found over the last few years our hall has become even more clicky than before. Social events have practically disappeared apart form the odd BBQ when the suns out. There are no Congregation gatherings at all, which is surprising for a congregation with publishers in the 3 digits.

Luckily i'm not employed or work with any other witnesses. At this moment in time it is just a little difficult trying to decide what direction to take ourselves from here onwards in terms of work, whether in the long term we'll continue to live where we do etc.

Having read the forums on JW.net and other sites like JWFacts aswell as other sources of information I see the future as more exciting rather than daunting. Only time will tell I guess.
