In what KM or literature were JW's told to not put the WT logo on podium or buildings?

    stuckinarut2: Great point about idolatry. I remember in the 70's when some Brothers wore had YHWH tie clips and some had bumper stickers. They were counciled.

    But today the JW.org marketing is bringing benefit to the WTBTS, so they will probably encourage it. But you are right....it's better to proclaim the Tetragrammaton than a website. How screwy is their reasoning?

    JW.org cannot be sued in Court for Elders who protect Paedophiles.

    So it is O.K to use it willy-nilly a far as the Legal and Finance guys are concerned. Their job is to ring-fence the huge funds that belong to the now shadowy W.T.

    Any action taken in Law against a Congregation will in future not be able to access damages from W.T funds, at least, that is what the Legal and Finance guys hope.

    The new God's Kingdom Rules! purple book, just released at the 2014 DC makes reference to an old wt book.
    Page 105 says about the pins they used to all wear: "Cross-and-crown pins are idols - Preparation, 1933, page 239"

    Here's the quote from Preparation (1933) p.239

    "This prophecy means that 'idols of silver and gold' (Ps. 115 : 4), that is, by engaging in commerce or commercial enterprises to become rich while in the service of God, must be cut off; also idols of creature worship, such as worshiping a leader who is dead, and the worshiping of prominent brethren or of clergymen or of "elective elders" or leaders ; and all idols of character development and foolish hobbies, such as the pyramid of Egypt, chronology, tabernacle in the wilderness, cross-and crown pins, and all like things, must be cut off and put away."

    This principle of idolatry should also apply to the blue squares which are popping up everywhere.

    Another angle is that if a KH has Watchtower-style bricks built into the facade, it detracts from re-sale value
