    *** w10 9/15 p. 10 par. 12 Earnestly Seek Jehovah’s Blessing ***

We recognize that the end could come at any time; Jehovah’s timing is not contingent on our giving a personal witness to every individual on the planet. (Matt. 10:23)

    *** w00 1/15 p. 13 par. 17 “Keep on the Watch” ***

Fifth, we see a global preaching work being accomplished, which Jesus said would take place just before the end of this system. Jesus stated: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) Today, that prophecy is in the course of fulfillment on an unprecedented scale. True, untouched territories still exist, and it may be that in Jehovah’s due time, a large door leading to greater activity will open. (1 Corinthians 16:9) Nevertheless, the Bible does not state that Jehovah will wait until every individual on earth has received a personal witness. Rather, the good news must be preached to Jehovah’s satisfaction. Then the end will come.—Compare Matthew 10:23.

    *** w97 8/15 p. 14 par. 11 Living for Today or for an Eternal Future? ***

There is also Jesus’ prediction that “this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses carry out their work in 233 lands, island groups, and territories. True, untouched territories still exist, and perhaps in Jehovah’s due time, a door of opportunity will open. (1 Corinthians 16:9) Still, Jesus’ words recorded at Matthew 10:23 are sobering: “You will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives.” While the good news will surely be announced throughout the earth, we will not in person reach all parts of the earth with the Kingdom message before Jesus “arrives” as Executioner.

    Blondie:

The difference between the '97 and '00 quotes is telling; Jesus said, vs Jesus predicted, and no mention of what Jesus said about the 'circuit of cities'.

The de-emphasis on Jesus was already in progress in the year 2000.

The WTS speaks out of both sides of their mouth, covering their bases. Foolish jws are pointed only to the one that fits the current bs. There is no way that the WTS can numerically reach each person even with the internet. jws will continue to believe that God will make a personal judgment of people's hearts, thinking about their non-jw relatives and not wanting them to die at Armageddon.

Dont's confuse us with the facts

I wonder if the "great door" may be a snapchat Jehovah will send to all people just before the end?

Snapchat! LOL!! I thought of that myself. It would be so easy to contact humanity with a direct message. Just take over the internet of TV or radio. I am pretty sure people would listen.

I think the org wants to stop printing the public magazines altogether so as to drastically cut costs. The reduction in size of the magazines by half, and changing from a bi-monthly to a monthly magazine, speaks to their desire to cut printing costs drastically. However the org can't be seen as taking such a drastic step of stopping the printing of lifesaving spiritual food at this time, so deep in the "time of the end" - not without a very compelling reason. This is where the promotion of JW.org comes in. I suspect that this promotion is all about getting the public to go to jw.org instead of accepting the magazines. The org hopes that with the site widely promoted, the printed magazines will naturally become obsolete (why clutter your home with paper when you get the same info. online?). Then one day the org will inform all JWs by a letter that the promotion of the site has been so successful that most people now prefer to download the magazines and read the articles from jw.org and as a result there is no longer a need to print the large volume of magazines as before. They'll probably still continue printing them for a few more years but maybe a much smaller volume for distribution in areas where internet access is not widely available. The focus of the house-to-house jw will shift to placing cheap tracts geared at encouraging people to start a bible study, and actually doing bible studies.

Dont' the Witnesses claim Matthew 24:14 has already been fulfilled?

Seven or eight years ago I was copied on an email that was making the rounds in the JW world. The Witnesses were all excited because some Bethel speaker at an assembly had said Matthew 24:14 had been fulfillied. I had only been inactive a few year then and I went online to see if I could verify it. That's what first brought me to this website. If I remember correctly, the consensus here was that the Bethel speaker was saying nothing new.

JWfacts - Obviously that reasoning is wrong, as most people will never look at jw.org, and a cursory glance will have absolutely zero affect on what someone believes, but I can see it being a powerful tool in satifying JWs that question their global relevance to Mat 24:14.

Individual JWs are way ahead of your prediction. JWs have been posting pictures of JW.org signs on NY Bethel and referencing Mt 24:14 for about a month.

Considering current geopolitical crises, JWs must highly anticipating the "End of this System". I wonder how they will feel in a year or two.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

For those of us who remember the 3 to 8 min. sermon and the placing of 3 books for $1.50, the Wt. & Aw subscription campaign (K.H. thermometer and all), evening dd witnessing before the bookstudy... will probably recall how much hype there was announced at the DCs about what has been accomplished. Like literature stacked multiple times as high as the Empire State Bldg. and mass baptisms. These were signs that the work was being accomplished and the Kingdom would soon be taking over earth's affairs. It was immediately imminent.

Of course that was 50 years ago or so. To those in attendance at those large DCs, it seemed very real. The preaching work was being accomplished, if not already reaching it's climax. We had a part in the separting work. It was a remarkable fulfillment of Bible prophecy. We all believed that. Fast forward to 2014. The measuring device (Empire State Bldg.) will have to be changed to some cyber space device, but the hype will remain the same... "look at what Jehovah is accomplishing"! The world is being put on notice..again. Reality is that while there is no end to the rhetoric of the advancement of the preaching work, how many people really know what that message has been or is presently. What do you think a survey would reveal? Just ask my neighbors down my road, let alone those in remote places where literacy is a challenge. So the message (adjusted) might be getting published then and now, has little or no retention because nobody knows what it is. Pity the person who has but one opportunity and is given a witness by bro. or sis. disshoveled (few teeth missing and generally unkempt with poor verbal skills..I know of several like that). But they read a scripture, offer the literature and now it's up to you.

To believe that the world has received a witness to Jehovah's satisfaction with just that scenario is a precious leap in faith.
