Incidentally, Moslem rule of Spain was not all blood and guts, either. Christians were still free to practice their religion, and during those years, the three centres of learning in the entire world were Cordoba, Bagdhad and Constantinople - with two of those centres being under Moslem rule. Scholars were not only tolerated, they were actually welcomed - not viewed as heretics, like they were in the lands dominated by the Roman Catholic church.

What you fail to grasp is that those are pictures of daily life in mainstream Islam for hundreds of millions of people. In other words the vast majority of people throughout the world that subscribe to this base belief system, do things this way and treat women as property. Even in western lands, where some Muslims are more liberal, there are still many honor killings and similair horrendous acts. The destiny of Islam is to spread Sharia Law throughout the world. You really should remove your head from the sand, and see Islam for what it truly is.
