I'm happy for you Mony. Thanks for the update.

I'm proud of you for figuring out what you want and need out of life right now...do you know how many people stumble along and never do that? The move should be stimulating. Hard and a little scary...but probably one of those things you'll look back on and say it was one of the best things you ever did.

And I don't think it's selfish to realize that you need time for yourself. There's a difference.

And just so you know...with the right person you can still experience that freedom to be yourself, and never suppress or repress yourself again. Freedom is a beautiful thing.

This side of Eden, whether we realize it or not, we feel the stain on our souls, and at every opportunity, we try to scrub it away with steel-wool guilt.

realized that i don't need anyone, i do just fine alone. and i love living alone!

Halleluself, sistah! You've discovered one of the greatest secrets of the known universe. It's not a lifestyle that works well with bearing offspring, but with mine grown and gone, I've come to the conclusion, living alone is the only way to go!

Then to the lip of this poor earthen urn
I lean'd, the secret of my life to learn:
And lip to lip it murmur'd--"While you live,
Drink!--for, once dead, you never shall return."

PLH - That was an awesome post! I think you're a great example for women who have experienced the stiffling lifestyle of growing up as a JW! More power to you!

P.S.- I am no longer single but when I was, and lived alone...I LOVED using all the hot water, not asking anyone else what they wanted for dinner, and using the bathroom with door open... ;o)

Harmony what a coincidence! I am moving too! And like you I have lived my entire live in the same city too! Yes, being on your own is great!

How about if you move to Las Vegas like me? We can hang out, gamble and do all the thing that we couldn't do as Witnesses!

I hope everything go well for you.

    Bye

i'll just let life take me on this adventure and see where i end up

That reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: "Life is what happens while you're making plans." If you stop concentrating on the plans, you get to see the life that is passing you by. As Ferris Bueller said: “You gotta stop and take a look around some times.”

I’ve lived single since I moved out of my parents house – never had a roommate. I love it. The privacy, the quite, no one keeping track of you, do what you want when you want. Even the part about not getting dressed every day.

You could always come live in sub-tropical Africa! Your money would go quite far here due to the exchange rates...try staying on one of our beautiful wild coastlines, not too far away from a city, and you should have a wonderful time. Ever had crayfish barbecued on the beach mere minutes after being fished out of the water, or buttered sole, also freshly caught? Then you haven't been to South Africa if you haven't!
