Sadly that was a perm. The person who permed (and low lighted) my hair was a sister whose brother eventually became a circuit overseer here in the UK.

Absolute favorite decade - esp the early part. I miss the music, the look (like the 80's Madonna look), the feel, the movies, etc. I was young (twenties), I was in shape, I dated a lot, etc. Then JWs came along and took my life away. Second half of the eighties was very hard because of JWdom; my every second was governed and consumed by it. My looks went downhill, I got out of shape, I had no time, I started living in guilt, etc.
