So much good music from the 80s.
Two of my favorite videos and songs from Tears for Fears:
I was a student in the 1980s (I was a student radical while you could still be a student radical but I would have preferred to have been a student in the late 60s or early 70s) and then started my first job and travelled the world so lots of good memories. I hated New Romantic music like Adam Ant, Boy George, Duran Duran etc. (and still do) but loved Tracey Chapman, Eurythmics, Crowded House etc, though 60s and 70s music still dominates my music collection. Lots of good movies in the 80s like the Indiana Jones series. Looking back I realise that youth is wasted on the young. I would have done a few things differently -- like not get married young -- that ended badly -- and perhaps not burning some bridges I burnt. Still live and learn.
I liked crowded house.
preferred the 70's although i was still at home and pioneered. liked the early 70's music, maybe i had no responsiblities and the end was so close.
80's i went out on dates got married house business kids lot a work.
I liked Don't Dream It's Over because the Hammond organ in the arrangement reminded me of 1960s music. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1960s and 70s while I was there. Because I loved them so much, I did not allow myself to enjoy and appreciate the 80s then like I
could and should have.
I am afraid a lot of the '80s culture passed me by, but there were some great rock bands :
Anybody remember Kix or was that just a local band?
I've Got the Itch
Blow My Fuse
Cold Shower
Now I've got to find all of my old Kix cassettes!
This is Meat Loaf's song ( being covered by kids) called ' I''d do anything for love" ( I know technically it is 90's but it has the same 80's epic ballad that Meat Loaf was so famous for)
It is so amazing, you won't beleive it until you hear these kids!!
It is being done by
Kids Cover Meat Loaf
The O'keefe Music foundation
The Vampire Song ( concrete blonde)
Who remembers Yazoo, Samantha Fox, Sabrina, A-Ha, Nena, Erasure, Europe, ABC, Pet Shop Boys.. what a wonderfull music at that time.
