I believe religion has been the enemy of mankind and halted our growth as a planet.

We probably could be living in the stars by now with eternal life-ish but religion has spoilt all this.

This i wrote to create a thread, which think it created a great debate so far.

Hope new readers read the thread many posters have made great points.

This Thread is good for JW's to read, so thank you NHAH. I remember that as an active JW I firmly felt that "Truth" was something tangible, solid, provable.

It was good for me, and humbling, to find out that it was not so.

There are of course Facts, as Cofty says, but they are in no way absolute truths, what we know as facts today are often modified by the emergence of more knowledge.

But Cofty's way of putting it is good, once we have learned about Viral infection, we do not go back to believing in Miasmas as the cause of disease.

Hence the "truth" of facts may be added to, but the old errors are dead and buried. Like JW "old light" they never were the truth.

If it did i wouldn't be here. Free speach needs to be moderated.

I am so free, i live in a country that blew little countries out the way to have free speech.

I don't want to turn this threadn to " what do you believe" in to a fight about my politics and science is right.

You know on my earlier topics i asked about dinasours and the Kennedy assasination, and i learnt postets believe this and other posters believe that. ..and all those different thoughts ...I mean Free Speech to me is better than winning the lottery. It allows us to change the world and since leaving the W.T i can say it exists.

Thats why you are loved on the board Punk, you say it as you see it...Fact.( cofty)

So my point was who cares if they believe this and you Believe that...

and if Jesus walked on water why not "Awesome" he did that" i just don't see it that way.

I guess we can make it more wierd, but i have never been that confident Jesus walked on water.

So Cofty and Punk, together you make a great sandwish. Punk does't boil and Cofty can get mad. Thats absolute truth as posters on this board now numbering in to the thousands we all share a different " Truth"
