I would not be surprised if they eventually, after an online only test run, they decide to go on cable. If they see enough dontaions coming in as a result. The fiber network they will get from QCS would be one of the tools needed for this.

joel olsten is on Syris radio now ( or coming soon). The jws could do that too, Syris radio. Now that would probably be as effective as TV and reaches more folks as they drive in their cars.( generally the only place I listen to radio anymore ).
we need better spys. darn.

hey remember when the internet was evil and the WTS literally said not to have it.
Yeah now if you don't have it you're missing out on 'spiritual food' and are not keeping up with gods chariot or whatever.
fuckers
I doubt they'll go on cable or satellite radio. They'd have to pay the cable/satellite ridiculous carriage feeds. Satellite would pay them for the content and there's zero market for it. Online broadcasting is absolutely the way of the future (look at Netflix and their rapid growth of original content). I do give them credit for that. They went balls deep in this pretty quick.

Leaving_quietly, you have what I would call "almost" a point - but to redeem the full point, where is the thread that shared this information as stemming from "inside" - as in a leak?
What astonishes me is how tightly this move into television has been played without excited anticipatory whisperings or dizzy-minded speculation anywhere near the topic of streaming TV. Posters who opined about major changes in doctrine or policy were revealing more about their own desires and needs.
This major development certainly has the air of quick move written all over it - perhaps a very smart move, given how freighted 2014 is with heaviness that allegedly 100 years into an invisible reign, nothing's happened. The rank and file need a new toy, and baby, we're so over the soft ones! Try kicking JW TV around the back yard.
Diverting to say the least - and not one syllable leaked out beforehand. That fact alone is impressive.

Hermetically sealed, huh. I'm having a hard time thinking of one example of something that was not leaked before the official announcement, including the tv thing. I was on a thread where it had been leaked 2 days before today when it went live as a "surprise".
Just like with the new bible
j-dubs had a wild rumor about a new bible going around months before it was released. I heard about it from relatives in 2 states in different regions of the country.

Maybe the Governing Body hired some worldy professionals to design the set and keep most bethleites in the dark so as not to leak it to the internet. I'm sure the GB took the utmost precaution on this one getting leaked because so much has already been leaked on the internet.

That was my thinking as I read through this Thread frankie, but it still shows that Steve is right, they can keep stuff quiet until they want to release it.
I wouldn't mind betting that it took a lot of effort though, with dire threats to the outside Company/ies and any Bethel folk who were in the know.
This means that they really fear the power that Sites like this one has to piss on their fireworks.

Rebel8, the thread you direct me too was started after the AM announcement - NOT 2 days beforehand as you claim.
Could you please direct me to any thread that leaked inside knowledge of JW TV BEFORE it was announced at the AM.Thanks.
