  There is no other world wide religion that calls on the name of Jehovah.

  Jeremiah 12:16-17

  Joel 2:32

  　And it must occur that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will get away safe; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will prove to be the escaped ones, just as Jehovah has said, and in among the survivors, whom Jehovah is calling."

  There is no other world wide religion who call themselves by the name of Jehovah:

  Acts 15:12-18

  There is no other world wide religion who excommunicate their brothers through the use of God's actual name; Jehovah:

  Isaiah 66:5

  　Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: "YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame."

  There is no other World Wide religion where the leaders claim to be rulers of the House of Israel, sons of Jacob and yet, treat their followers with such cruelty, corruption and disdain. While saying; "Jehovah is with us" and that it is they who will escape the coming calamities (great tribulation). All this happening immediately before the final part of the days, the conclusion of this system of things:

  You see, Christianity is not Jehovah-ianty, but the name JESUS embodies the name of Jah.

  The Old Testament and its God are quite different in context, content and intent than the New Testament.

  The Old Testament deals with revealing of God through His convenant with the Jews through rituals of individual quid-pro-quo sacrifices.

  The New Testment deals with the actual redemption of man from death ALTOGETHER by only one act of sacrifice.

  Turning the Hebrew tribal name of Jehovah into a fetish or "magic word" which must be spoken to invoke blessing

  is rather . . . well, I don't wish to mock anybody's personal beliefs . . . let's just say, it is rather backward, don't you think?

  Jehovah's Witnesses have done exactly WHAT with their very casual and problematic invocations of the DIVINE NAME?

  Every crackpot idea has JEHOVAH smeared all over it like grease.

  Those JW ideas have gone from absurd (Great Pyramid noodling) to ghastly (6,000 years of human history coming to an end TWICE! And, both times wrong.)

  Let's be rational for a moment, shall we?

  If this mighty deity had any actual power in the use of the "saying" of His magic name, those hundreds of disreputable errors and corruptions of

  faith bandied about by the magazine publishers over 100+ years would amount to something other than a hole rubbed into parchment by

  constant use of an eraser!

  In Judaism (with the sacrifices of animals with their throats cut and blood running everywhere) the penitent Jew could "imagine" he was forgiven by

  his tribal god. If he suffered calamity the local prophet could simply declare (conveniently) the nation was at cause (faithlessness) and nobody could

  prove otherwise. The priesthood in every nation on Earth from time immemorial amounts to a Con Game. The Priests pretend and the people believe.

  The rituals, the sacred words, the magic mumbo-jumbo have deep emotional significance IF YOU BELIEVE IT. If you don't they stone you, label you, or just chase you away.

  The Catholic Church, for over TWO THOUSAND YEARS has useless Priests saying magic words over holy wafers and wine while INSISTING it actually, really, truly TURNS INTO FLESH AND BLOOD of Christ!

  If you are silly enough to believe such nonsense you can feel forgiven.

  I find it apalling. But, who cares what I think?

  You are talking about ODDS.

  The only way I can "rationally" see to measure those ODDS is against what it says in the Bible and what is REALLY happeining in the world.

  Disputing the veracity of the bible is not a rational thing to do after asking about "the ODDS".

  Unless there is some other Non-Christian book that measures the ODDS of a Non-Christian religion being true.

  use a Latin interpretation by a Catholic monk of YHWH (Jehovah) to self identify themselves and own and

  operate their very own publishing company.

  also, though I don't agree with a few of his conclusions, ablebodiedman's videos make for great topical bible study. The scriptural support for his study is extensive. The thing is, this thread asks about the odd's of JW's being the true religion; I don't think they are. I do agree with abe that the WTBTS will have a part in the end time scenario as they will be overtaken by "men skillful to destroy". (Ezekiel 21:28-32) whether the WTBTS chooses to walk in the path of righteousness is up to them but, the WTBTS as it is shall not be remembered.

  Every single living thing and human that has ever existed......has died.

  Despite watching Witnesses getting old and die all their life, all of whom felt they never would, JW's will fully believe they are destined to not die.

  What are the odds?

  Odd is the word indeed.
