during a press conference in france
"I wonder why it is you think there are such strong sentiments in Europe against you and against this administration?" the reporter said. "Why, particularly, there's a view that you and your administration are trying to impose America's will on the rest of the world, particularly when it comes to the Middle East and where the war on terrorism goes next?"
Turning to Mr. Chirac, he added in French: "And, Mr. President, would you maybe comment on that?"
"Very good," Mr. Bush said sardonically. "The guy memorizes four words, and he plays like he's intercontinental."
"I can go on," Mr. Gregory offered.
"I'm impressed — que bueno," said Mr. Bush, using the Spanish phrase for "how wonderful." He deadpanned: "Now I'm literate in two languages."

As Mr. Bush stepped away from the podium, he called to Mr. Gregory: "As soon as you get in front of a camera, you start showing off."

Bush is a moron. Someone please pinch me and tell me that al gore is actually president and this whole thing is just a nightmare.

Consider youself pinched, sonny boy. Al Gore is America's worst nightmare, and you are naive to believe otherwise.

Farkel, waiting to hear from the European Socialists who don't know shit about American politics

I don't know about Gore being America's worst nightmare, but I would say he is damn close.

Aaah, watch the party lines come to light. I'm no fan of Gore, especially is running mate Leiberman who is for censorship. But come on. Unload your Republican baggage and admit that Bush is a complete moron. He is not running this country or anything for that matter. It is obvious that his advisors are and thank God for that. He has a good support crew and you can tell that they are running the show. All he has to do is learn a few catch phrases (how many times have you heard "smoke em outta their holes") smile and wave.
This latest stunt almost makes me ashamed to be an American. All of you should be praising Bush's advisors not Bush.

    bboy,

: well ANYONE but bush, he has the crudest international behavior since his father, aka mr. puke on the japanese prime minister.

That was not only an uniformed statement, that was a very juvenile statement from someone who is clueless. (To put it mildly.)

I remember Ike as president although Harry Truman was President when I was was born, but I do remember every President since Ike.

    John Kennedy
    Lyndon Johnson
    Richard Nixon
    Gerald Ford
    Jimmy Carter
    Ronald Reagan
    Geroge Bush
    William Clinton
    Dubya

(I hope I got all of them right.)

That's eleven US Presidents in my lifetime, and that gives me at least SOME perspective on Presidents and what they do and don't do.

Fact: they are ALL liars and thieves! That being said, let's move on.

I lived as a young adult through the Vietnam War and saw what several Presidents did in that kind of crisis.

I've seen a good sampling of US Presidents and bring my observations to the table. All you have is history books and what those history books say. bboy, I lived through that history. You might learn something from an eye-witness of events as they happened.

And if you want to know why I think dubya is a much better choice than Al Gore, I will be happy to explain why I think he is.

You'd better know your facts. I do. And I'm willing to share them with you, if you are interested. On the other hand, if your mind is already made up, then I won't bother.

For the record, I am NOT a Republican. In fact, I have serious differences with the Republican agenda. I'm a Libertarian. In fact, I have serious problems with the Libertarian agenda. So there you go.
I'm a Libertarian without the burden of the Libertarian agenda. If you don't know what "Libertarian" means, then think of this man: "Thomas Jefferson." He is my hero.

    didn't Gore invented theinternet?
the designer of the superhiway should be thehero, period.

Bush does not even know the difference between a keyboard and keywest.
He is scared of both, the later is to close too a CASTRate.

Talk about scare and obseced with small countries, macho latino rulers, France not so smal though.

Take heart his father only lasted one round then economy boom arrived.

BTW there is a definitve obvious character contrast when you compare D and R presidents. See courtesy list above.

Comments about Bush's IQ are very misplaced. He doesn't
have to be a genius - he just needs good advisors, which
    he has.

Highly intelligent Presidents often end up as 'know-it-all'
failures like JFK or Carter. This is a classic European
/Socialist error of thinking - I can recall an opinion piece
on how brilliant Soviet leader Andropov was and how dumb Reagan
was - history didn't go that way. I'd rather have a common
ordinary guy with people like Powell, Cheney, and Rice
around him than a man like Gore (who would be big trouble,
if he was elected). Imagine a Jewish Vice President in the
current political climate trying to assuage moderate Islamic
    countries!

    And ditto the Libertarian Views!!

well ANYONE but bush, he has the crudest international behavior since his father,

Europeans, especially those living in the old imperial powers don't get Bush mostly because they don't get his sense of humor. Bush cracks me up all the time because I'm from Texas and I understand his sense of humor in finding the sillyness in the most "important" of things. Texans like to simplify issues not over complicate them. We are always making tongue in cheek remarks about the complexity of modern life.

I grew up with guys like him my whole life. These guys like to poke fun at their own heritage of simplicity and rugged individualism. The humor Bush displays is simply a harkening back to an earlier time while fully understanding the days of simplicity and individualism are long gone. Beneath the boyish humor is a guy I wouldn't mess with.

Many Europeans want a polished stately figure displayed with all pomp and circumstance. He simply doesn't fit the European ideal.

Bush will continue to be himself and that suits me just fine. It's written all over his face when he's lying. I like that. Other Presidents were simply too smooth for me. They seemed to always be lying, not just sometimes.
