On a more serious note - is it any WONDER that these JW's are as mind controlled through fear and guilt as they are ? I mean these quotes are incredible with the amount of arrogance the WT leaders show and oppressive fear mongering that they use to control JW's ! The quote : " Jesus also conveys Jehovah's voice to us as he directs the congregation through the " faithful and discreet slave. " We NEED to take this guidance and direction SERIOUSLY for our EVERLASTING LIFE DEPENDS on our OBEDIENCE. " WOW.

Translation :" We are the GB who Jehovah is using, you are NOT. If you don't take US seriously and what we tell you to do- YOU WILL DIE. God WILL destroy you. You will NOT live, you will be considered wicked and be destroyed at Armageddon like we have told you for years. You HAVE to obey US - because we not only represent God Jehovah- WE ARE YOUR GOD - and what we say goes - you comprehend ? "

I feel this is an effort on the GB's part to consolidate power in a psychological manner towards JW's because they are NOT being given the " respect " or alleged " honor " they feel they DESERVE from rank & file JW's. Younger JW's and other JW's today are kind of just thumbing their nose at WT leaders and the GB and doing whatever they want to do many times. This is an effort to try to deter that trend I believe in younger JW's. Hope it doesn't work, the GB can sit on their thumbs and rotate for all I care

The sin was going against their counsel. (Bad association)

99.9% of the world's population do what comes naturally to human beings (top row of illustrations). 0.10% of the world's population forces themselves to reject natural human behaviour (bottom row of illustrations). These latter ones are the ones that experience "true happiness" and "the real life".

Good thread BB. I noticed similiar things. The top line of pictures depict a normal, balanced well adjusted young mans life, the bottom a cultish, isolationist, boring wierd one. They take harmless, healthy things and make them dirty and wrong.

The article employed sweeping generalizations, as well as black and white thinking. Either you listen to "Satans" voice, which is your own heart or anyone else, or you can listen to "Je-hoovers" voice which only comes from the FDS, their interpretation of the Bible, elders, or other "spiritually strong" "true christians" Anything else is a prideful, "no one can tell me what to do" attitude.

They also made sure they had to get in a Korah and Abiram rebelling against Moses and Aaron reference, a favorite tool of cults. They miss the irony that Aaron made the golden calf and those that followed his lead were executed.

I also kept thinking about how they repress everything natural and normal. They say you must be different. No wonder there is so much fustration and depression amongst this lot. You can only be repressed for so long before you snap in some way.
