" how inappropriate it would be for any member of the congregation to react according to the world’s spirit, vehemently demanding “justice” or that “something be done.."

    The Apostles do not agree:

"... a murmuring arose on the part of the Greek-speaking Jews against the Hebrew-speaking Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution." (Acts 6:1)

"... when YOU come together in a congregation, I hear divisions exist among YOU; and in some measure I believe it." (1 Corinthians 11:17)

"I wrote something to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who likes to have the first place among them, does not receive anything from us with respect. That is why if I come, I will call to remembrance his works which he goes on doing, chattering about us with wicked words. Also, not being content with these things, neither does he himself receive the brothers with respect, and those who are wanting to receive them he tries to hinder and to throw out of the congregation." (3 John 9,10)

    Wednesday, October 29
    These men . . . are . . . disregarding
    lordship and speaking abusively
    of glorious ones.—Jude 8.

Obviously(?), such a spirit has no
    place in the Christian congregation.
    Older men in the congregation
are not perfect, just as they
were not perfect in the time of
    the apostles. Elders may make
    mistakes that affect us personally.
    If that happens, how inappropriate
it would be for any member
    of the congregation to react
    according to the world’s spirit,
    vehemently demanding “justice”
    or that “something be done
    about this brother”! Jehovah may
    choose to overlook certain minor
failings. Can we not(? Why use a "not"
here, when leaving it out says the
    same thing?)
    do the same?
    Because of what they perceive
as defects in the elders, some individuals
    who engage in serious
wrongdoing in the congregation (such as
questioning doctrine, or the source of
    Governing Body's spiritual anointing,
although they claim not to be prophets,
    etc)

have refused to appear before a
    committee of elders assigned to
help them. This could be likened
to a patient who loses out on the
    benefits of a treatment because
he does not like something about
    the doctor.
    w12 10/15 2:6, 7

    "This could be likened
to a patient who loses out on the
    benefits of a treatment because
he does not like something about
    the doctor." -

Ya know, because going to a QUACK always works out in the end... NOT.

    ------------------

    Jude chapter 8 (NIV)
8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings (in some translations: "glorious ones" = celestial beings, or angels).

" how inappropriate it would be for any member of the congregation to react according to the world’s spirit, vehemently demanding “justice” or that “something be done.."

While this could cover any number of things---from someone defrauding you to adultery, I have a sneaky suspicion that this is aimed at parents whose children have been sexually molested by a fellow Dub but where nothing is done to the molester because there wasn't the all-important '2 eye witnesses'. It seems that more and more parents are not content to "leave it in Jehovah's hands" and they're going to the police themselves.

In addition to the Candice Conti case, there are at least 3 more sexual abuse lawsuits that have been filed against Crooklyn in the last few weeks. Not only are they getting really bad international press on the subject, but it's costing them alot of $$$.

"This could be likened to a patient---that does not like something about the doctor"

Ya. Kinda like the dickhead doctor I had that misdiagnosed my cancer for 2 frigging years. If I had not taken matters into my own hands, I wouldn't be sitting here today. Are they suggesting that we do whatever our doctor says, even when he/she doesn't know what they're doing and where they've had multiple complaints against them?

    What a bunch of idiots.....

They forget how Jesus gave as an example to follow that widow that persisted in demanding justice from a judge, until justice was finally granted to her. (Luke 18:1-8) She didn't 'wait on Jehovah' in quiet, reverent silence before the "superior authority" appointed by God's agency. She felt the injustice and spoke up and was vocal about defending her rights.

Jehovah may choose to overlook certain minor
    failings.

What about failings that are not minor? I cannot imagine the average JW risking everything because of a "minor failing" on the part of some elder. And why do elders get a pass? I think most JWs are shocked when they find out the hard way that there is a double standard. While they would be disciplined for a major sin, the old boys network of the elder body are held to a different standard. Of course the individual wants something to be done, they have been told that "Jehovah's Organization" doesn't do these things, why wouldn't they expect wrongdoing to be fixed. Hypocrisy at its finest.

This could be likened to a patient who loses out on the
benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about
    the doctor.

And if the doctors shows up for your surgery drunk, would it be foolish to object ? Why would anyone take advice from an elder that doesn't follow basic bible principles of honesty and integrity.
