This is the watchtower company men weilding the big stick , pay up or else

The R&F need to realise they have a bigger stick , withhold their money , whats the WT gonna do , bring in the heavies ?

This is nothing short of extortion over vulnerable people.

    Shame on the WTB&TS.

Yes, but pay up or else what?

    What can the WT do?

I understand that they hold the deeds to many (most?) of the halls around the world, but if the rank and file can't or won't pay what the WT wants, what possibly can the WT do?

They can change the elder body and put a spin on it, but the truth will out, it's over money.

Let's remember, the GB is corrupt and may be clever, but they are not that bright, and they are certainly not leader material.

People respond to the stick only for so long, and then they just stop going.

Oubliette asked, "Was Jesus ever harsh with his disciples?"

Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns." Matt. 16,23

So I would say - Yes!

TheOldHippie, good point. I'd forgotten about that.

Interestingly, once a person no longer filters everything in the Bible through the filter of "it's inspired" it becomes easy to see it for what it really is.

That being said, the biblical Jesus was one messed up person.

"Was Jesus ever harsh with his disciples?"

I think a better question would be: Is it necessary to PAY a fee to be one of Jesus' disciples???

JK- Yes, remember the disciples carried a money bag around with them. Pay and Play.

True, but there is a difference between voluntary contributions & forced contributions - contributions obtained under compulsion

What could be more coercive than Jesus brainwashing people into believeing if they rejected him they would suffer eternal seperation from God.

"No one comes to the Father except through me".

Looks like you don't understand the meaning of coercion. Please check it up in the dictionary
