As a religious organization, I'd like to see the Watchtower die a quick painful death. But, since there will be people to perpetuate this farce of a true religion much longer, here is what I would recommend.
1) Come out with some "new light" that makes the no blood transfusions a conscience matter. If they are afraid of lawsuits, this cult is lawyer savy enough to come up with something to where members can take blood and nobody makes an issue of it.
2) Immediately stop their stubborn pedophile defending position, and openly work with the authorities to right the wrongs and put this disgusting scandal behind them.
3) Stop all the doomsday cult-speak. Just admit they do not know and quit giving directives to pioneer because the end is near, no education because the end is near, no marriage because the end is near, no children because the end is near, no career or saving for retirement because the end is end, etc.
4) Stop all the DF'ing and shunning. If anything come out with "new light" to just shun those that DA. Let people walk away and keep family & friends, if they just want to walk away from cult activity.
5) Not only should they stop their anti-higher education stance, but they should openly encouage their members to get higher education, technical or trade training in order to support themselves & their families.
6) Stop the hate preaching, and causing people to endanger their lives because the Watchtower convinces them that Jehovah is with them.
There's soooo many things the Watchtower cult needs to do to get back on track, but these IMO are a start.

I usually agree with you, and you are spot on with your analysis. Delusional narcissists waiting to sit at god's right hand - and rule over all of the earth and the universe - aren't likely to change, however. They could address number 3 from your list (admit that we are not at the end of times) and the rest would likely take care of itself. But the end of times teaching drives all of the other nonsense.

To say they should get "back on track" insinuates they were on a track to begin with. They were never on the track.
To gain any credibilty they would need to rename, restart and hope that no one notices.

I think they have to be more open about there past as well as their present policies and procedures.
They have to take full ownership and responsibility for the things they do and say.
What I would like to see them do is help those victims that got screwed over by their policies around sex abuse. Just how big of a problem it is, and weather coming out and admitting to it would bankrupt them is quite a different story.

Of the two stated lofty wt goals a)"vindicate jehova's "sovereinty"?!?!" and b) longterm 'survival] of members aka "salvation",
They should totally scrap the former, and replace it with research endorsement at all levels, and
as for b) concentrate on imroving the climate in the congregations, reign in, dismiss the ueber elders, do true charitable works.
