No longer to use "house to house record" slips and "please follow up slips"!

Here in the UK, they were removed and we were told to write on notebooks instead. A few years back the s8 was allowed again up until currently... If this is for the UK then we'll probably just go back to notepads again..

I stopped using those things when I was a kid just because they were not practical for a "seasoned" pioneer who kept meticulous records of his service to God. Not enough room to jot down all relevant data, including my astute observations, keen insights, and discerning spiritual perceptions.

The s-8 was okay for beginners and the spiritually inferior. I required a small 3-ring notebook, properly tabulated according to territory zones, with plenty of refill paper, as my ministry, like Jehovah's chariot, was always on the move and advancing forward in dynamic fashion.

I was still using the horrible things 3-4 years ago here in Australia.

In my country, those printed slips were discontinued more than 10 years ago, due to changes in privacy laws. Publishers should make their own brief non-printed notes on a regular plain sheet of paper or notebook.

Yep...well once again it seams that us Aussies are behind the times!

So much for keeping up with the celestial chariot! Maybe it doesn't circle past our land too often?

Nothing about this on the web site

Justnowout - Yes it won't be on the website as it won't be a worldwide thing, just in whatever country had this announcement

As some have already said, in Britain witnesses stopped using S-8 slips over a decade ago, but some time earlier this year they decided to start using them again for some reason. It sounds like they have now changed their minds again, if the country in the original post is referring to the Britain.

Well, the witnesses are still expected to keep notes about these things. But there is a great difference if they write it down to a slip printed by an organization or to a notebook of their own.

    1. If they would use these printed slips, it could be argued that the organisation is directing/demanding/encouraging them to maintain potentially illegal person data record.

    2. If they use their own notebooks, they do not keep these records because an organisation asked them to, but because they by themsselves as private persons decided to do so.

In case there would be a question about potential infringement of privacy laws, which case do you think JW as organisation could better defend themselves against?

    Exactly Clearpoison!

The "Organization" is constantly "moving forward with Jehovah's chariot" in distancing itself from lawsuits....
