I heard that there was going to be a letter read at the service meetings this week? This info came from a jw friend who has been discussing this with me for the past couple of days. He just said to go to the service meeting as there was going to be a letter read. Has anyone else come across this? I can only guess it is related to the Dateline expose'. I wonder if the Society will say that all four witnesses interviewed are now disfellowshipped. Isn't Bill still awaiting his trial? And if he is, I sure would like to hear it from the podium that he has been df'd, because it would make a great libel suit for Bill.

BTW, I am bringing my micro-digital recorder tonight just in case something is said that is untruthful. Hell, I'll make an mp3 of it anyway. Who wants to host it?

Yes there is a letter being read at the meetings. My brother in law told us that the letter claims that abuse victims are not discouraged from going to the authorities, that no one is punished for going to the authorities etc. etc. etc.
He was at the meeting last night and heard the letter.

Obvious damage control because of dateline, but the entire letter is a lie as we all know.

It they are claiming that the people involved were NOT discouraged from going to the police... that means that they are going to hang the responsible elders out to dry.

WERE NOT/ARE NOT... See they say now JWs ARE not penalized for reporting and at least for a few seconds when it's read it's true, but thereafter and for all the years before it is untrue. Word games. Theocratic Warfare. Brooklyn men, you are disgusting in your lies and half-truths. A half truth as bad in this case as any full-blown lie. Shame on you, snakes.

Another twisting of words is when they say "we punish no one" but later may confide "we discipline, yes, but don't punish." There is no factual difference. More damned propaganda. Stop treating our kids and grandkids like chumps, you chumps.

I'm going to the local KH to see if I can get a recording of the letter.

I applaud anyone that goes into a KH at this point. Driving by one makes me sick to my stomach.. seriously. What can they say about the Dateline report? Are they calling their fellow brothers liars? I know three girls in the congregation I grew up in with that were molested by their fathers, one being an elder. One of the girls lived with my mother, brother and I while child protective service was doing its investigation. Guess what? They found that he father had molested the girl, and took parental rights away, and he had to move out of the house in order for her to visit her father.

Guess what the JC did to her dad... nothing...
The poor girl was left to pick up the pieces with her life...

Remember what Dateline did to the Food Lion chain of stores reputation with their expose?... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    I figured this would happen.

If the society would have had the BALLS to let Brown be interviewed...
They could have read to him the Watchtowers stand on a pedophile who denies it.("let it go and leave it in Jehovah's hands")

The program did give the AUDIO clip from the service/legal dept.in which it was stated to leave a no proff situation go.

What would brown have said to this if he had been interviewed?

We didn't get a letter read to us
I was looking forward to see how the Society squirmed their way out of this one... Maybe next week, here's to hoping..
