I watched Dateline last night, and was amazed at what they can do now, with that tiny chip. I can only imagine the emotions those twin brothers experienced when they could see again. They both had retinitis pigmentosa, and while only one had dramatic changes, the other continues to improve, after being blind, in blackness for 20 years. It is thrilling. I was all teary eyed during the conclusion.
My father is blind, from macular degneration, and the despair he feels, not being able to see his loved ones, read, see television, drive a car, and be independent is heart wrenching.
