really? do you have statistics about the decline in the western world? i thought especially among spanish speaking people in the US the numbers are increasing.
does the internet help against the WT if the members ore not allowed to gather information about the WT?
realist, before i left,,.2 yrs ago........i was noticing their decline in membership in modern countrys.....according to their own yearly report in the watchtower.......... i don't believe any of their reports anymore though,,,,, they lie about everything.....it's theocratic warfare///////// .......spanish speaking congregations are still increasing.....i went to one for a while right before i left......mostly mexican imigrants with no education, and illegal aliens are causing the increase in that area.......the problem the watchtower faces is that their children are being educated in shcool where computers are now the "norm".......no matter what they say or do, the general public is connecting to the internet.......and curiosity killed the cat......... they are going to run out of bible studys to put their spell on...........members are leaving in droves, and they are not going to continue to be replenished, like before.
Crawdad, I've read much about the dwindling numbers among the ranks of JWs...is this substantiated? I haven't read, or had access to a yearbook in a number of years, what are the figures...numbers coming in vs. numbers leaving, and are they just walking out, or being pushed out via DFing?

what do you consider "substantiated"?........read the figures in their own literature....... no one else i know of has a record of how many jws there are............... just remember, they don't know how to tell the truth.
Let me ask you a very stupid Question.
I know Dateline sired a few weeks ago. Have you seen any mass protesting of Kingdom Hall or the public getting very upset over the fact pedophiles are not only allowed a good standing, but stand at their door? NO real newspaper or press articles. It is like the whole matter dropped. Sadly, the answer is no. Yet, we still hear about the pedophile priest scandel on a daily basis.
I do take in the factor there are more "Catholics" than Jehovah's Witness in the USA. If you compare the aveage Catholic ( most just go to church and realy don't care) to the average Jehovah's Witness (many who are raised or just joined) have more dedication to the Religion than the average Catholic.
Try to remeber the average person know very little about Jehovah's Witnesses, but yet respects the religion. Yep in teh Df policy is respected as "tolerating no shit from it's parishnor's" Many average people belive many XJWS are disgrunteld or deserved to be Df'd. That is right beliveing they JW must have done something wrong. Just ask many people with out being bias and that is what they think. so the Jehovah's Witness have worked very hard to maintain it's image.
Most rank-in-file Jehovah's witness are taking one of three stands:
1) Most are defending the Watcthower in a very zealous way. Sad, but true. Most are blaming the vicitms in those who are sticking up for them with being weak. Or those congregations for being weak. The Governing Body know this very fact.
In fact they will feed upon it. Just like Hitler took advantage of a humilated and defeated Germany. Hitler could not have excuted 6 million Jews and 4 million undesirables by himself. He knew the German were weak and pride was hurt. So for years he not only brought out promises to the Germans but accualy carried them out.
So the Watcthower will use the Dateline incident. In the minds of most JWS (even the Zealous ones) this is the humilationg defeat. It is inconceivable in mind of the average Jehovah's Wintess could happen in Jehovah's Organizations. As they JW feel the heat they anger will grow. In the next year I would Watch the Watcthower and local talks by elder assigned by the GB. Also the circut assemblies and the District Convetntions. Next's years Drama's done will be wehre most of the mid set will take place.
2) Some are getting sick of the defense policies and are walking out or writing the society. Any decention will be viewed as a threat. For now the leaders are taking note of the backlash. They need to gauge it from the rank-in-file JW. The leadership will deal with those people later.
Soon even if you are an active JW and even squawk aobut the leadership you will be Df'd. With the blessing of the rank-in-file JW. for thow who are cleansed out of the organizations, in a ferver not seen in a long time.
3) The JW who is paralized by the whole thing. They are going to have to make a choice. Even if it is in silence they will make a choice. No choice will be choice.
It ok if you disagree with me. Just don't be so disgrunteld to see what is true and what really lies ahead for the Watcthower. It's not going to collapse but get stronger and more respected over time.
Because every thing made by Jehovahs witnesses is so shoddily made its bound to collapse. Our kingdom hall was falling apart all the time.
Wow, this really made me think of the Kingdom Hell I attended back in the early 90's when I was a teenager. The hall was built in 1974, just one year before Armageddon came. Heck, I don't think a year went by when something structurally significant wasn't happening to that building. Just shows what can happen when you put your faith in a bunch of false prophecies.
BTW, that building ended up lasting the congregation over 20 years, until it was condemned by the city...
