Mustang. Any amateur who 'accepts' prizes that go over the prescribed limit of the USGA or RCGA rules will lose his/her amateur status.
Hole in one prizes are not considered 'gambling' but a 'prize.' If you put up money for the express purpose of personal gain then it is gambling. Of course, crossing a street can be considered gambling.
Mustang. I never had problems with the JC when it came to this situation. When there is 'no money' directly involved your conscience is free and clear.
