    Naomimara,

Hope you don't mind I was wondering if I may ask a few questions of you?
Did your case go to criminal court first?
How many defendants if any individuals are listed are there?
Were there any references to either child or sexual abuses?

Hope I am not being too nosey.

    Take care lady.

    Dear Cassi...

I will always try to answer questions; actually encourage them. If I cannot, I'll do my best to offer an explanation why not.

1.) There was no criminal investigation years ago for several reasons. In the state of Connecticut, issues regarding child abuse (violence) and wife battering (physical and psychological), unless there was lots of blood or dangling limbs, would be minimized as a problem that should be addressed through family, therapy or religion. This is not to say that there were not state departments that would investigate, but up until the late 1980's, the support groups and high profile recognition that we see today did not exist. Of course, my primary reason for not reporting should be obvious to the readers of JWD. It was a sin to air dirty laundry to any that were not in a position of congregation oversight. Furthermore, and you'll see if you read the entire legal 'complaint' that there is a very insidious way to carry out violence so that few marks show!

2.) The lawsuit is against WTBTS, et al. The named Defendants are 4 (still prominent) elders.

3.) The legal 'complaint' states physical and psychological abuse against mother and child and briefly makes mention of sexual abuses. I cannot comment further on that because my son, who is not or never became one of JWs, is working his way to be able to come forward to testify. As you know, not speaking about a matter means not having to think on or relive the matter.

    I hope this was helpful.

    Dear Naomimara,

I am sorry to hear you son seems to be in so much pain. Again I thank you and others who are fighting the WTBTS to bring their abuses to the forefront. Everyone will be able to hear of the way they split familles. Ignore Child and Spousal Abuse. Its a shame that they will never admit to these atrocities. They will continue to rob children of their childhood, tell you that you must endure the pain of spousal abuse and continue to rip entire familles apart. If they could see how much pain they induce. Perhaps one day with continued lawsuits and media attention they will change their polices.

    Thanks Again Brave lady!

AS ALWAYS, THANKS CASSI - YOU'VE BEEN VERY KIND DURING MY POSTING!

YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE WALKED IN MY SHOES (OR I IN YOURS) AS I'M SURE MANY OTHERS HAVE.

WHILE RESPONDING TO YOU I GO "Bttt"

I'm giving it one more try - is anyone interested; concerned?

    I welcome feedback - suggestions?

If not, thanks all for having "read".
